The Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU), Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital chapter has embarked on an indefinite strike which started at 12 midnight on Saturday 7th January, 2017.

Part of their grievances against the Chief Medical Director was his payment of Skipping to doctors, non-payment of salaries of their members who are on locum and contract appointment, as they believe that the money meant for such was used to pay skipping to the doctors, and also non promotion of their members.

Although this has affected most units from functioning optimally, other units like the clinics, out-patient departments, some laboratory units will still be working as the doctors have taken up the challenge to see that patients don't suffer so much.

It is hoped that this will be resolved as soon as possible so that normalcy will return to the hospital and the health sector at large.
