The way out of recession is true productiveness. Ask yourself all those idle people around you whose job/effort is not commesurate with what they consume(food, shelter), whose effort is paying for their maintainance/upkeep? We basically share oil money through what's largely an unproductive workforce, thus making true productiveness unattractive.
To make matters worse, govt has to subsidize the foreign things we resort to consuming when dollar is subsidized for importers.
Solution to recession is productivity that is competitive enough to be exported and thus serve as an alternative to oil.
