On Thursday, the House of Representatives will debate a motion, which will determine if Gambian President Yahaya Jammeh will be granted asylum in Nigeria.

The move is part of efforts to broker peace and ensure transition in the West African country.
The motion is being sponsored by Rep Mohammed Sani Zorro (APC, Jigawa). It was supposed to be taken yesterday, but was postponed.

Zorro said Nigeria should consider the option if it will lead to Jammeh relinquishing power to Barrow.

When Speaker Yakubu Dogara put the motion to a voice vote, the majority of the lawmakers shouted ‘nay,’ but the speaker ruled in favour.
Jammeh is refusing to step down , despite initially conceding defeat to Adama Barrow in last month’s presidential polls.

This week, he asked a high-level ECOWAS
delegation to move their visit from Wednesday to Friday .

Nigerian has become a dumping ground for failed leaders and dictators. I am going to name them.

1. Yakubu Gowon: (my auto correct spells him as "gown". I guess that's the suitable name for him) Dictator and failed leader.

2. Olusegun Obasanjosadauto correct spells him "ouse gun" apt name!) Dictator, militocrat and failed leader.

3 Shehu shagari: Democrat and failed leader.

4. Muhammad Buhari: Dictator, Militocrat and failed leader.

5. Ibrahim Babangida: Dictator and failed leader.

6. Earnest Shonekan: Figure head and failed leader.

7. Abdusalami Abubakar : Dictator and failed leader.

8. Goodluck Jonathan : Democrat and failed leader.

All these people are in a country that has not had 60years of independence. They are just of nuisance value, eating up the little resources we have for their maintenance and causing confusion in the polity.

Charles Taylor was once here after ruining Liberia. Now Yahya Jammeh is coming to join to our long list of failed leaders. My question is, has Nigeria become a retirement home for useless former leaders?

America that has had a solid 200+ years of independence only have 4 past leaders living. (Jimmy Carter, George Bush the 41st, Bill Clinton and George Bush the 43rd) Obama is going to make them 5 on 20th January and Jimmy Carter is already waving goodbye as Obama is being welcomed to the group.

Jammeh should go to Ghana biko. We are not the only country that desire peace in Gambia.

If that will prevent the stiffnecked man from causing another civil war in Gambia, then it's good.

It won't be a bad idea, provided he is not allowed to set bad precedence in African Democracy, he can seek asylum in any part of the world, he must relinquish power to the president-elect first.

If not for ethnic chauvinism and religious fanaticism, Nigeria indeed is a Big Brother to Africans!

Restoring the pride of Nigeria is a task that all hands must be on deck to achieve by sending out political leaders who fans the embers of this discord out of leadership positions

As if we don't have our own problems already. But you won't hear the reps debating on how to better the lives of Nigerians o. Nigeria forming big brother when we can't even feed ourselves, provide basic amenities and infrastructure, youth unemployment rate skyrocketing, child labor, tribalism and religious bigotry and what have you. It's indeed a shame to the giant of Africa, who will Nigeria now run to now that we have internally enslaved ourselves?

I hereby command the poster 1stCitizen to go to the next page grin
