cheruv: Ojukwu was just been smart but only by halves. He sent Banjo ahead of his ibo tribe to go and bring mayhem on his (Banjo's) people. Every yoruba kid surely remembers the story of Alimi and afonja but Ojukwu a supposedly student of history thought Banjo will fall for his "Trojan horse" strategy. It was a suicidal mission and Banjo knew it. Anyway, Obasanjo refused to give banjo a free ride into yoruba land. Moreover, what is the guarantee that once Banjo had taken lagos , Ojukwu would not have had him killed by one of his ibo people following him (as he had planned for Ejoor, unbeknown to banjo at the time of the midwest invasion) thereby taken over the whole of southern nigeria? Ojukwu sang the song of Biafra but his actions clearly was the take-over of the whole of southern nigeria. Typical impish, covetous and greedy modaxxxxx. 2 Likes |
