very insightful

Kudos

Let me tell you the potentials of this project.
People will live in Ibadan and be working in Lagos.
They will close from the office at 4pm and get home at 6. The railway will create a corridor of logistic hubs and factories along its route.

Only China can do this thing.

Believe it or not, these are all GEJ's projects. I am yet to see any new project conceived by this Buhari/APC govt

Project was awarded by Obasanjo but was cancelled and rewarded by Jonathan after loads of accusation of inflated contract by Jonathan men.

With just approximately 2yrs to go.... including 1year political campaigns?.....

I foresee Abandoned project eventually.

Why dont you start with projects that wont last that long, expand and build better and standard roads.

Their are lots of projects that would get to the masses faster as time is no longer on your side.
Coupled with the situation of the economy, short term impactful projects are needed more.

I just feel we have only ear-marked campaign funds, just like the monorail that never took off..

do you travel at all?

What their brother the PhD holder could not do for several years, the 'illiterate' Buhari is doing. Now, tell me using your church mind, who is the illiterate here, Muhammadu Buhari, Goatluck Jonaddaft or you children of anger and hate?
Look at you mentioning anger and hate while you are really actually an angry and hateful person yourself. It is obvious from your comment that you are also a child of anger and hate.

Unfortunately, it is this exact line of reasoning that keeps Nigeria and Africa as a whole in the 3rd world undeveloped pit. The black man only thinks of TODAY and is incapable of undertaking ambitious projects; this is exactly what separates us from the whites. Unfortunately, it is due to the kind of crude politics we play, no leader wants to start a project which would be commissioned by his successor. LEaders think only of themselves and their personal achievements rather than thinking of general public good.

I don't know how and what you understand by this contract--a contract that was sign and awarded by one administration and because of a change of government--somebody come convince you that it is renegotiated and you don't read it well--you started ranting her- please be inform before you write--Go and check the 25 years strategic development plan of 2012 and see that all the rail line was designed, source of funding was secured[[China Nexim Bank] by the previous government---this present government do not have an idea of how to sit down and come up with any strategic development plans but they can only depend work on an already laid down plans by a government that had plans for the country.

In my opinion, we need this railway project more....ESPECIALLY as roads in nigeria are in a bad state partly because of overuse.

Rail projects cost a lot of money...but they earn back that cash in the long run.

Good point,
yes they earn their money... but we know the politics we operate in this country...

Why did amechi not think of earning those proceeds from the abandoned monorail project.. we play dirty politics, that is why i feel a leader should do that he can do within his tenure. We all know 4 years is a good number of years for a project.

If they like let them attributes the victory of Donald Trump to Jonathan, no sane man give a hoot about their twisted logics and incessant wailing anymore.

Is it not foolhardy that they are quick to claim Buhari's progressive actions to Jonathan initiatives but same people will want us to stop blaming Jonathan for the mess he had caused.

Following your logic, why would Buhari blame past administration for country woes but will not appreciate they lay some good foundation on which he is building? The leader set the tone for the wailers maybe. So don't blame them, blame your president for setting bad precedence. He is the first twisted mind.

If you go back in history.. so much has been said about rail projects and billions of dollars spent.. nothing to show..

Is it not a point of concern that the same minister that abandoned a monorail project is opting for another within a time frame of 2 years untill this adminitration gives way?.

The masses have waited for too long for jamboree projects. From my opinion, better, wider, standard road cutting across every nook and cranny would serve us better for now while we keep hoping for the rail project

1. The only person you should direct the issue of the abandoned monorail project to is Wike, who it was that abandoned the project
2. Some projects will need more than 4years to complete, considering all the critical stages and the fact that the capital cost will have to be sourced from other corridors aside govt pockets

Yes i do very well... rail projects are excellent, we all know that..

We play different politics here in Nigeria... how long have you been hearing of rail projects?

It has always been in our budget from the days of obasanjo, do we have all that was planned since then?

Other countries have wonderful roads cutting across everywhere.. they can afford to do all they want since they have satisfied all other urgent road needs..

We have extremely bad roads in the country, going onto rail for now at the detriment of those road would only make them deterioriate worse at the expense of a project we may or may not have..

Aside your misinformation about Rivers Monorail project (except you purposely choose to be insincere to yourself), your "opinion" for "better, wider, standard road cutting across every nook and cranny " is not a smart solution. In the first place, one of the the major reasons why our roads are dilapidated is because of the impact of heavy duty trucks moving heavy goods that should ideally be moved by rail or barge.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make, I'm surprised you don't still get it. Amaechi did NOT abandon the monorail project, Wike did, and that is the sort of crude politics the black man plays. It's rather unfortunate that a lot of people (including yourself) think the abandonment of the project is the making of an Amaechi who is NO LONGER THE GOVERNOR.

The Calabar monorail project was started by Duke, progressed by Imoke and recently completed and commissioned by Ayade. Had Imoke sworn never to touch the monorail project when he assumed office (like Wike did), the project would have ended up abandoned like many others across the country.

While embarking on easier road projects, projects like the speed rail are ambitious projects which we MUST embark upon if we want our economy to go anywhere in the future.
