This is rubbish. You don't need to have a foreign bank account to have access to American express credit card. Infact, the prosecutors should be prosecuted for wasting tax payers money as a result of their ignorance. Obviously this case is going no where. NB- who are they going to replace Saraki with sef? The govt is tactically trying to save face by continuing with the prosecution which will linger till middle-late 2018,then judgement will be reserved indefinitely,entering into d election and end of d present senate.
Saraki has bcome d good man of d president and APC who av convinced d president his prosecution was orchestrated by Tinubu loyalists(like d embattled SGF) & that Saraki is needed for d president's 2nd term bid.
But in other not to dramatically drop d case and create more sceptism in an increasingly sceptical public about d corruption fight,the charade of a trial will drag on,and after the 2019 election,d CCT chairman wud be persuaded to return a verdict of d prosecution not able to prove d charges beyond all reasonable doubt.
Saraki's only sacrifice probably agreed upon is to continue bearing d inconvenience of appearing at d CCT,that at d end reports of d trial and revelations in the conventional or online media will only av an embarassing effect because Nigerians are notoriously known to be all noise and no effect.

The only set of people that can remove saraki from that seat is the people of kwara central constituency. They know he's a thief that should be stoned. To start with all credit card companies are BANKS.Depending on what product you are offered so be it, I have a Barclays, savings,current account and also thier credit card cos interest with your bank is always low.
In actual fact payPal credit card is new and bears no weight whatsoever,its Rubbish not worth mentioning Ok!.
AMEX is the most powerful credit card on earth, You need a bank account, I mean any bank account in the country you are applying from to get ne,if we have AMEX in Nigeria you then need a bank Account in Nigeria to apply for one.This is waht I meant.Now do banks in Nigeria issue Amex cards? NO only in four countries in Africa,kenya,South Africa, Egypt and Ethiopia.SO to get teh AMEX card he has to own a bank account in these countries or Europe and America so that teh Direct Debit can be SET.This is why I said he must own a foreign bank account of any other bank for AMEX to collect thier money back.

Bank manager testifying against Saraki says he doesn’t know what the issues are

‎Nwachukwu Amazu, head of the fund transfer unit of the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), on Tuesday, said he did not know much about the documents he testified on.

Amazu said this while being cross-examined by Paul Usoro, counsel to Senate President Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

Earlier, he had testified that Saraki transferred funds to his accounts in the United States (US) and London at the time he was Kwara state governor.

“The customer, Dr Saraki, with the address Government House, Ilorin‎, gave an instruction to transfer $73, 223.28‎ to the beneficiary, American Express Services Europe Limited through their bank, American Express Bank of New York‎, for ‎the funding of the amount utilised on Amex card issued to the customer (dollar credit card) No: 374588216836009‎,” he had said.

He had also said that “from his (Saraki’s) pound sterling account at GTB to his Fortis Bank account in London, 761, 904.76 pounds was transferred ‎on the 15th February, 2010″.

It is against Nigerian laws for a public officer to operate foreign bank accounts.

He had given his testimony while being led in evidence by Rotimi Jacobs, counsel to the federal government and prosecution.

But under cross-examination, Usoro asked him when he made his statement to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and he said it was on 10 September, 2015 , five days after Saraki was summoned by the tribunal.

He also admitted that there was no evidence to show‎ that the defendant operated those accounts.

He said the transfer of funds to American Express Bank of New York was for accounts operated by American Card Services, and not by the defendant‎.

‎Contrary to his earlier testimony that an operator of a credit card must have a bank account, Amazu said the issuer of Saraki’s credit card was not a bank.

Witness: It was issued by the bank‎.

Usoro: But in the documents, it says public sector group of Ilorin, is that correct?

Witness: Yes.

Usoro: So, you have nothing to do with it?

Usoro: You were not in the funds transfer unit when these funds were transferred on 15 February, 2010, is that correct?

Witness: Yes.

Usoro: The first time you saw these documents was in regard to this matter?

Witness: Yes

‎Usoro: You have nothing to do with the documentation of these fund transfers, is that correct?

‎Witness: Yes.

But how will he defend the transfer of millions of dollars and pounds when he was still a Governor?

How can a so called GTB Banker not know that an Amex card is not a bank account? How can a so called GTB Banker not know that his evidence that Saraki paid his Amex card from his declared dominiciary account in Nigeria proves that CCT case is a witch hunt? How can a so called CCT not know that Amex even had an office in Nigeria for many years? Saraki does not need any foreign account to have Amex card. Anybody with card just needs a bank account, not a foreign account.

Not only is it rubbish witch hunt, Nigerians are waiting to hear details of how Aisha Buhari who "does not accept financial assistance" from nigeria embassy in London for herself and claims she sponsors her entourage pays for their food and cars and accommodation for weeks in UK when the cash limit is $10,000. If Nigerians now hear she uses a credit card after announcing closure of her massage salon will CCT drag Buhari?
