Certain foods out there can actually help you burn more fat than the amount that you normally burn, some of you already knew this.
Every process in your body requires energy so digestion is no exception. You use food as a source of energy and to actually digest and absorb that food, you use energy. You always spend energy, even when you sleep, it's just that you spend much less while asleep since you are more inactive than when you are awake and when you aren't doing much, your body doesn't require much energy to function.

Now, it's not the actual foods that burn your calories as you may think, it's your body, always, the one that burns the food. However, certain foods can have beneficial effects on things like your metabolism, and protein is one example. Protein requires more energy to be digested, that is how protein helps your body burn more fat. Basically, protein is more difficult to digest as opposed to carbohydrates as well as to fat. Protein is actually the perfect nutrient when it comes to staying fit, it's just too good. Not only does it inhibit hormones that make you hungry but it also promotes muscle growth and helps to preserve muscles as you lose fat, it's absolutely great.

What you can also find in food and what can also stimulate fat burning in your body is something called CLA. Now, in my opinion, protein is much better for the sole purpose of losing fat, I recommend to everyone to reduce carbs and calories/fat and consume more protein and more dietary fiber, I promise you that you will lose fat. However, CLA is also something that has evidence, yes it has clinical evidence that it can promote fat loss, not necessarily weight loss because as many of you know, fat loss is different than weight loss because weight includes muscles, bones, water and so on, but when you say fat loss, it means just fat. The belief is that CLA stimulates molecular receptors such as Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor or PPAR which can induce fat loss.

Not sure how to put this, though, do not be surprised if CLA doesn't help you much. Despite having evidence of promoting fat loss in human clinical trials as well as in animals, it's clear in some studies, fewer than those in which it has worked, though, that it is unreliable for burning fat and that it has conflicting results, sometimes. It works differently for different people and even when it works, it is not overly potent. Without a healthy diet and physical activity, on a regular basis, CLA can't do much to make up for that.
