Hazards of fasting for someone that intends to loose weight
After a meal, glucose, glycerol, and fatty acid are used from food as needed and then stored. As the body shifts from a fed state to a fasting one, it begins drawing on this stores.
Glycogen and fats are released from storage to promote more glucose and glycerol and fatty acids for energy.
The body depends solely on energy all the time. Cells of many organs are at war even when one is asleep.
During fasting, mental alertness need not be diminished, even physical energy may remain unimpaired for a long time. Still, fasting is not without hazards. Among the many changes that take place in the body are:
1.Wasting of lean tissue.
2.Impairment of disease resistance.
3.Lowering of body temperature.
4.Disturbances of the body fluid, and electrolyte balances.
Fasting is a dangerous way to go for someone that want to loose weight. The body lean is continuously degraded thereby amounting toso much as 80% of the weight loss. A diet only moderately restricted in calorie promote a greater weight loss, a faster rate of fat loss and a retention of lean tissue.

i do not think there is any hazard in fasting. if you are suffering from any form of sickness such as ulcer you are advised not to fast. yes loosing weight is very good for the body and essential for having a good health.
