Tomatoes contain lots and lots of nutrients that are highly beneficial to our bodies.

 

Usually when I make stew, I indulge in eating one or two tomato balls because this is mostly the time I have tomatoes in the kitchen, aside when making fried eggs.

 

Tomatoes help prevent several types of cancer. The lycopene it contains slows down the growth of cancerous cells. Tomatoes also contain coumaric and chlorogenic acid, these acids works to eliminate the carcinogens that are produced from cigarette smoke thereby countering the negative effects on smokers.

 

Tomatoes contain vitamin C which lowers the levels of stress hormones and strengthens the immune system.

 

Are you tired and stressed out? Have a glass of tomato juice and watch yourself bounce back with strength!

 

Tomatoes cures and prevents constipation. It has high water content and fiber content that works to create bulk in stool.

 

Tomatoes gives you good vision. The vitamin A it contains works to improve your eyesight while the lycopene, lutein and beta-carotene it contains protects the eyes against cataract.

 

Tomatoes intake reduces the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases. Tomatoes contain potassium which when combined with a reduced dietary sodium intake, can help combat high blood pressure.

 

Tomatoes fight diabetes. It contains chromium which works to keep blood sugar levels under control.

 

Tomatoes gives you fine hair and skin. The vitamin C in tomatoes boosts the synthesis of collagen- the protein that makes up the hair and skin.

 

More so, tomatoes are also known to prevent gallstone and have been linked to preventing urinary tract infections.
