Former blues legend,Frank Lampard has announced his retirement from football following a 21 years career in the game of soccer.


The 38 year old has released a statement saying that it feels like the "right time" for him to hang up his boots having represented West ham united, Chelsea fc,Manchester city and MLS during his career.
After leaving the united states at the end if 2016,Lampard publicly stated that he has not closed the door for joining another club,but he did not take any offers made to him.The midfielder has now taken a bold step to walk away from the game and he leaves having won 11 major trophies in all in his 13 years in Chelsea.
Lampard picked up four FA cup titles,three premier league titles, two league cups,the Europa league trophy and as well as a champions league as a key Chelsea player.
In a statement posted on Instagram,the former England international said,"After 21 incredible years,I have decided that now is the right time to end my career as a professional.
