Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi was crowned the first-ever player to win six Ballon d’Or trophy at a ceremony which took place in Paris on Monday night (Dec,2).

Before the event, the Argentine skipper Messi and his arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo who both dominated the Ballon d’Or for a decade between 2008 and 2017, were on five each before the Barcelona superstar broke the tie yesterday.

In a new interview, Messi revealed that he was hurt when Cristiano Ronaldo joined him on five Ballon d’Or triumphs, claiming that the Portuguese will be experiencing similar emotions after he failed to show up at the 2019 Ballon d’Or’ ceremony.

“On the one hand, I enjoyed having five and being the only one,” Messi told France Football. ‘When Cristiano moved level, I admit that it hurt me a bit. I was no longer alone at the top. But it made sense, although it was good when I was alone at five.

“Was I frustrated in the last few years? Let’s say I understood why I did not win. As a team, we had not achieved our major goal, which was to win the Champions League, which gives you more chances to win the Ballon d’Or.

“When Cristiano Ronaldo won it is because he had achieved great seasons by winning the Champions League and being decisive. It was deserved, there was not much I could do.

“Did I feel injustice? It’s up to you to tell me if the Ballon d’Or is awarded to the best player or the one who enjoys the best season.

“It is also down to individual taste. Some prefer Cristiano, others myself or Neymar or [Kylian] Mbappe. People have the right to choose the one they like most.”

“Do I understand Ronaldo’s frustration? It is something that we live, feel and express according to our own way of being.

“Once again, the collective titles are the most important thing, even if the individual trophies are rewarding. When the Ballon d’Or eludes you, everyone reacts in their own way. But when you are a top athlete, you always want to win.”

There are so many great songs. But the only thing better than a great song is a great cover. This year we had plenty of both. Starting from special hip hop artists, to fuji, and country legends, to rockers giving sweet pop tracks,not excluding series of gospel music, to mention but a few.

Though there are some major contenders for the best cover songs but that of special hip-hop singer Yinka, was highly exceptional and beautiful.

So ,obviously two students of the institution found it cool to film themselves while having sex and one way or the other, the video found it’s way to the internet and has since gone viral.

The scenario has since been generated varying reactions from social media users as well as various forms of story on what really happened. Thus, making it difficult to exactly point out the truth of the whole story.

Well here’s the most widely believed story…

An anonymous social media user revealed the video is actually an old video and the particular guy in the sex tape is no longer a student as he’d been expelled from the university since last semester..

It was further revealed that the boy is a drug abuser and had checked into rehab where the girl paid a visit to him.

It was during this particular visit that they had the sexual intercourse.

“Please keep me anonymous. The video is not a current video. The guy in the video is no more a student of Babcock. He has been expelled since last semester.”

“He got expelled following drug abuse and exam malpractice last semester. So he was taken to a rehab by the school.”

It was as if yinka, who happened to be the fastest trending young musician had read the heart of over a million voters that would converge to vote come November 16, which has been designated by INEC for the gubernatorial elections in Kogi state and Bayelsa state respectively.

As a political scientist, the only moment I do go high like a palm wine drunkard is whenever there is a quest to acquire power in an election. Just like a faithful football fan who is always obsessed to see his team win, I cannot sleep, eat or rest until I see the outcome of the election between the sixty-eight political parties qualified and certified by INEC to contest the elections.

While forty-five political parties would contest the heavy weight title in Bayelsa state, twenty-three political parties would have to engage in a wrestle mania, of which only the winner will occupy the governorship seat of power in kogi state.

Thus, I have specially tagged it the clash of titans. I called it the clash of titans not necessarily because there are sixty-eight political teams in the electoral league contesting for the governorship cup but it is
simply because the red umbrellas in kogi state are currently recruiting the best possible players of the decade to strategize and exploit the weakest point of the reigning champions inorder to win the governorship elections. In fact while the red umbrellas has promised to give an unfriendly kiss to the Large brooms, popularly known as the All Progressive Congress, the latter is on the watch eager and desperate to defend dogmatically against the fierce attacking PDP team. To my shock, the atmosphere transfigured into a mixed flora undetached with comments. People kept flocking in like herds of cows happy to have seen fresh green pastures. Individual opinions skyrocketed high into the sky. I tried to catch all of the opinions but the more I try to catch, higher up it goes. They kept flying beyond limits. It was at that moment I realised that the kogi State gubernatorial (governorship) election can be a cause for unity and also a cause for disagreement.

Patiently, I kept observing like a sailor, hoping that the troubled sea being tormented by the storm will soon be calm, but reverse was the case. This time around, it was a strong missile from the ruling party, APC.

_”If you know what this state was during the reign of PDP and now, you will understand the need to vote for Yahaya Bello and continuity.“_

Having witnessed another uproar and a fierce exchange of intellectual combats by the expectant crowds from both parties and reactions from the hopeless but hopefull citizens, I wondered like a hill of a golden daffodils.

Not too long ago, dailytrust.com.ng aired in one of its newspapers, that the convoy of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Engr. Musa Wada alongside his supporters clashed with those of the Ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Governor Yahaya Bello.



It was at this junction, I began to imagine what would have happened If the governorship election were to be a war of physical combat that could only be won by the party with the highest population, the grass would lament, and the land would grasp for breath. Because one could hardly have a clear view of the party with the highest population neither could one differentiate who is who within a twinkle of an eye.

Having heard of Davido omo baba olowo for quite a number of times, I do dream of seeing him like a 6 year old child whose mother had promised to take to shoprite in Christmas day to see father Christmas.

But this time around, I was not dreaming of seeing Davido but someone else. His name is Yinka.

He is a young fast rising and upcoming artist. I’ve never met him nor see him before.
