His going to vandalize the pipelines is not justified either. It is this sense of entitlement of our Nigerian youths that make them illiterate, jobless and useless in the society. See the way they are even boldly revealing that the oil companies refused to "settle" them, so they went to vandalize the pipeline.
I pray his killers are found and brought to book, but what happened to him is over 99.9% his own fault.

From what I can gather, the story is not exactly like that; you can say it was a typical example of dog eat dog.

Apparently, a bunkering outfit was in the business of stealing oil directly from the pipeline, with connivance of the local youths who were being paid hush money to keep quiet; however, this young wanted to muscle in and equally be collecting similar payment from the bunkerers and proceeded to disrupt their business by vandalising the pipeline.

Unfortunately for him, he thought they had reached agreement to meet his demands not knowing they were only pretending and would later send assassins to eliminate him - after he must have foolishly exposed himself and over played his hands.

The above foregoing gives an insight to how the NDltns are being their own worst enemies; they are actively involved in the destruction of their own environment through breaching and directly looting from the pipelines and pursuing contracts for repair of the damage they caused.
These along with militancy, kidnapping and arm robbery is making the major oil companies to dis-invest away from onshore to offshore - to the detriment of the local economy.

Not just him bro, very many youths in this region think this way. Its what they have been told, its what they now believe in. To change this thinking will take hard work and many years.
