Even in Nigeria, I have heard a couple of times from some dignified members of the society, opined that Christians and Muslims serve the Same God

So there shouldn't be any cause for religious violence/intolerance...

Some people have also argue that "God" is translated to "Allah" in Arabic/Hausa, so that means it is the Same God
How true is this!??

Same concept today, but dating back mellenniums before both religions, Yahweh was a divine warrior God of the Israelites and Allah (simply means the deity) was a moon God.

Whenever Muslims say Allah they are referring to that Jealous God referred to by Moses in the first commandment. Christians have confused the concept of God themselves that they don't eve seem to know who or how to describe him.

Let me illuminate...I am a Cathothic and a strong believer in Trinity. Let me enlighten you first with the Catholic doctrine. "Jesus was begotten and not made." He was not created like other heavenly bodies. So if Ezikiel had a vision of God's throne he probably would have seen God the Father only. God the son (Jesus) was begotten from the father via words. "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God"...and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. That word has always been there. When you hear Trinity my dear friend don't see thee Gods....See a God that can exist in three forms...like water changing to solid and vapour. "There are three that bears witness in heaven. The father. The Son and The Spirit. And these three are one"....The spirit of God or the Holy Spirit is the Force that works....I trust you understand.

It is a simple understanding my dear. In your old testament did you not read "and the spirit of God came upon Samson" or The spirit of God came upon Elijah" that is the spirit of God. That is God. It is simple my dear.

If your interpretation of the trinity is correct, why is God limited to 3 forms? An omnipotent God should be able to exist in an unlimited number of forms. It seems random that he'd limit himself to 3. In my view, the trinity is just a convenient doctrine made up to justify worshipping Jesus. If early Christians said Jesus was not God, worshipping him would contradict the Jewish scriptures. But if they said Jesus was God, it would be difficult to explain why Jesus kept referring to himself as "the Father" and praying to himself. The "mystery" of the trinity was the only way out.
