Hang in there brother, you don't have to brake the promise. you just need to gradually reduce the duration of time you spend listening to it. and maybe delete a couple of music from your phone daily.

it's a gradual thing and you will eventually overcome it

This is very funny... what type of music exactly...?!!!

even the Adan is music... they let all these useless hadith block your sense of reasoning...

It becomes more difficult when you are close to overcoming the addiction. Just hang on, when you succeed at this stage, then you are free.

However, next time, never promise Allah to give up a bad habit, rather pray him to help you overcome it. You should only promise yourself to, because you alone benefit from it.

My one penny.

Music and Quran can never occupy a heart. It's either music or the Quran. But know for sure that the dunya is surrounded by haram deeds which is always painted as deeds that are accepted. All the best.

O soldier of Allah remain firm and do not show your back to shaytan's army we are the people of the last days, the prophet Muhammad S.A.W. said that any person from the people of the last days that remain firm on his deen Allah will grant him the reward of 50 sahabas, so would sacrifice the reward of a 50 sahaba for just a false pleasure? Soldier of Allah remind your soul that Allah is watching you and what are you going to tell Allah if He decides to punish you on yaumil qiyamah, imagine you're supposed to enter jannah but Allah says you must be punished for listening to music before you'll finally be admitted. O soldier substitute music for Qur'anic recitation By Allah it will benefit you and it will be more pleasing to Allah. Music is the Qur'an of the devil try your best to abstain from it we're in a time of great trial and fitnah lastly do not forget soldier of Allah the greatest jihad is to fight against ones selfish desries.

Op ask for forgiveness and continue listening to music .

Music is therapeutic for humans and it can improve your mood, motivate you, help you remember etc.

i cant imagine a life without music, seems very boring.

am sorry but the whole thing souns like torture and sadism to me. hmmmm......so one should just live their life without the melody, the art and the beauty of musical sounds? hmmmmmm

I used to listen to Music before .

2011 - All Wizkid soongs full my head .

2012 - I decided to stop , but still couldnt.

2013 - I deleted all the music on my Laptop and mobile phone ..... But see ehn , I had to re - download them back because I believed I could not just stop. But the addiction has reduced tho.

2014 - I had few songs on my phone and still used to listen to them once in a while .

2015 - After Ramadan . I realised that It was just not worth it at all. There is no benefit in anything Allah calls Haram. I looked at all those Artistes , Wizkid , Olamide , and so on . They drink , fornicate and so on .... Do these people deserve my time at all ?

I totally deleted all the Songs I had on my phone and didnt download them again.

I asked myself . What if my friend collected my phone to watch a music video or listen to a song and didnt find any song there, wont they crucify me that i am not a " Jasi Somebody " ? But I said to myself, Allah is worth pleasing than anybody !!!

2016 - All you would find on my phone are Lecturres by Rasheed Hashim, Amubieya, Mufti menk and so on. Not even a single Song with beat. Not even one from ASA !!!!

But you know what , I still had updates on latest songs . How ? Instagram !!!!!
I was following all these yeye clelebbrities ... Wizkid , Olamide , Praiz , Banky, Lilkesh and so on . So when they released new videos or songs , they would post on their page.

By the end of 2016, I had to unfollow every Artiste I have followed on Instangram , the only Musician i am foolwoing is Falz ( because of his mumu jokes only..............

I dont even know if davido and co still sing or not.

2017 - Alhamdulilah ......

So , If I can stop totally , You can too !!!! Bi idhni llah .
