We have peculiar set of people since common sense eludes them. Camouflage (Camo) is just fashion it doesn't indicate anything. It has clear distinct differences from Army Combat Uniform (ACU). The law in this country Nigeria banns wearing uniform or resemblance for purposes of impersonating soldier.

Soldiers don't have right to act like undisciplined animals beating up people. Soldiers involved in this sort of foolishness should be court Marshalled at worst or lose rank at least. They need simply make the arrest and move on with their day.

The worst part is the soldiers can tell difference between someone impersonating them and a citizen with fashion. When enforcing rules common sense should be used. Citezens shouldn't be dumb enough to be fooled into think anybody in camo is military personnel.

I'm going to use the American military lACU for comparison purposes.:

Ps. I would have used a Nigerian ACU but I couldn't find a detailed picture. If any soldiers on nairaland want to model and point out regulations of uniform. It would be appreciated.

To sum up everything an person in camo is t a soldier. How a regular person would confuse the two is amazing. Even when I used to work at resturants to give soldiers millitary discount. We usually just ask for Millitary ID or they could just come in uniform.

The law is outdated but people still favor it due some unnatural fear of people commiting crimes in uniform.

do you know the Nigerian Navy SBS unit wear similar colours to this one worn by rihanna in this photo. my point is specialised units in the armed forces use different variants of camouflage different from both woodland and desert camo.
Raising insecurity by criminals impersonating security personnel is the chief reason against civilians wearing camouflage.

But when criminals operate in camo, people always say they were soldiers. I hate camouflage colours tho

They still have distinct regulations that set it apart from regular camouflage. Besides same could be said for any other millitary uniform. Every uniform has variants yet everyone else in world can eye ball difference except Nigerians. I don't think banning regular camouflage is necessary anymore.

Ok I'll agree alot of Nigerians lack common sense. I already put that forward in first paragraph. Examinimg your pictures all the umiforms just like USA ACU's have insignias, rank tabs and other clear identifiable markers. It's clearly different from what the guy in wheel chair got beat for. Then it's contrast with regular fashion.

Nigeria is different I agree. Soldiers respect themselves enough not to beat up disabled people instead of just making simple arrest. Then letting courts hand own punished of jail times and or fines.
