Everybody is just looking for who or what to channel their frustration on... Even those who are frustrated by things not connected to FUTO will go there and vandalize. My fear remains that Nigeria is gradually looking like a failed state where anything at all can just happen |

Unfortunate scapegoats. Their parents/guardians go hear am. After this, all those scallywags that cheered them including their girlfriends will abandon them. Too bad to join the wrong group and take a wrong action. 1 Like |

INFORMATION!! IT IS NO MORE NEWS THAT NIGERIAN STUDENTS, THIS MORNING TOOK TO THE STREET ON WHAT THEY CALL "A SYMPATHY PROTEST. CHANTING IN ONE VOICE " RELEASE ROCHAS OR?. HOWEVER, THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE(IMO STATE) WAS FORCED TO COME DOWN TO EZIOBODO, IN A BID TO CALM THE SITUATION. THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE ASSURED US THAT BY 1PM... ROCHAS AND OTHERS WILL BE RELEASED. AND AT THAT, THE COMMISSIONER PLEADED THAT WE ALLOW 5 COMPETENT LEADERS TO FOLLOW HIM TO HIS OFFICE, FOR PROPER DIALOGUE AND DISCUSSION. HENCE, Zoom zoom, Ukwu okey, RROBITY, MEGWA kENNETH, AUSTIN ANYIGOR, HON BCH, ... HAVE GONE WITH MR COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM THEM. I.PM IS THE TIME... IF ROCHAS IS NOT RELEASED, THEN NIGERIAN STUDENTS WILL PROCEED WITH THEIR PLANS. EVERYONE SHOULD BE CALM FOR NOW. THANK YOU. FYI if yhu ain't a FUTO student, geh ya facts right before typing bullsh*t. How khan yhu increase students school fees and still give them ultimatum for the payment. FUTO VC is simply heartless. Even some of the school lecturers are in support of the protest. 1 Like |

ihejimagha:You are so on point. This is where NANS is supposed to flex their little muscles but unfortunately corruption has taken over that body like every other corrupt entity in naija. Gone are the days of Dan Onje as NANS president when the aluta machines would go to any school whose authority is found wanting and checkmate their excess.I paid #2950 only as my school fees from year 1 till final year(2005), right now same school(State Uni.) is now paying over #70,000 with no much difference in infrastructures and no-one is saying anything about the high school fees. 2 Likes |

Akinaukwa:Why are we always like this in naija? apart from the vandalising school property which might be done by those arrested, what else is wrong with angry student protesting for a hike in school fees? |

For those saying the student shouldn't protest are Indeed cowards. for the students to really gather around for a time like this shows that they have been pushed to the wall too far. we shld all know that Nigeria authorities always blames protesters for any damage done on their properties if it is a window glass that brake they will say u looted all their property. This a game they always play on, trying so much for the student to get angry and cross the line in the process heaping the blames on them. enough is enough. |

Protest is human right. If you protest and they single out some for punishment, your protest just started. Gather the entire school, shut down activities so that when they see the crowd, they will release your colleagues. Secondly, because students in the South East do not have strong presence online, some of these serious issues do not come online quickly for people to spread the news. It will always arrive late. This is why every youth must be enlightened enough to learn social media skills. By the time you send photos, videos and news to Sahara reporters, Channels, NTA, CNN, Omojuwa and all over twitter even the Police IG and spokesman Abayomi Shogunle will immediately call that bush man called Commissioner of Police in Owerri and your people will be released. To at the Unilag Student case last year and Audu Maikori matter. If not for social media all those guys wouldn't have been released. Guys shine your eyes, learn new skills connect and make things happen. |
