THE HEALING OF MEN AND THE NATIONS

Text: Malachi 4: 1 – 2 – “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up, ”Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.”

At creation, man was created in the image of God, in His image He created man (Genesis 1: 26 – 27). Man was created to have dominion over all other creation on earth, to walk with God in the beauty of His holiness, but then came sin; sin changed all that, the entrance of sin into the world by the disobedience of Adam and Eve created a gap between God and man, not only that, it created a legal ground for the invasion of diseases and infirmities on the earth. Genesis 2: 17 (NKJV) “17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

When we talk about healing today, we tend to narrow it down to ‘curing’ or being fit in our physical bodies, but healing or ‘to heal’ means ‘to make whole’, to restore back and better to the original order of things.

Sickness transcends more than affliction to our mortal bodies, anything in our lives not working or acting according to God’s plan in creation is a sickness, do note that there are other causes of sicknesses namely; demonic attack, test from God, Emotional or physiological causes, physical causes etc. But all these came into being via the entrance of sin into the world.

Today, our nation Nigeria is sick, the economy is sick, our spiritual life as children of God and heirs of His promise is ailing; when so called men of God will take to the preaching of material things than the talking about salvation and the workings of the Holy Spirit. The youths today are being plagued with all form of infirmity, ranging from the defiling of the temple of the Holy Spirit via fornication and adultery to all manner of vices, where as a youth, your credibility among your peers is judged by the number of women you’ve bedded; be not deceived, for what so ever a man soweth, that he shall reap (Gal. 6: 7).

People of God, the time to return to your maker is now, it is within the will of God to heal, to restore you to wholeness of life. As Adam sinned and made provision for the workings of the devil on earth, so also our Father in His infinite love and mercy has made provision for us to come back to Him through His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. The Lord Jesus Christ, via His suffering and death on the cross paid for our healing and restoration. Isaiah 53: 5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

Matthew 8: 16 – 17 (NKJV) "16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses.”



All we have to do, is accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. Worthy of note is that accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour does not exempt us from the afflictions of this world, but with every invading affliction, the Lord will deliver us from them all Psalm 34: 19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

As you come back to the Lord may He grant you the grace to live as His children, may the Sun of righteousness arise for you with healing in His wings in your life in Jesus name. Amen
