Believe me if this grammar lesson came from another "forumites" Criz must have warned them by now and delete everything but this time around its ok to deviate cus its from her.

@Topic

This Villa game is the kinda game Apache normally win for us, I miss that dude in our line up or bench. Berbatov can't even get a starting call up these days yet we paid millions for him. The earlier we send him on loan to arsenal the better for us. His presence is deceiving SAF

Thank God for an intelligent person like Debo.  .  .one look and he understood my statement.
Something Nateevs had been struggling with all night, taking out words and phrases and giving them new meaning.

Ibime, you know I am right here.
You just don't want to agree openly 'cos Nateevs is your fellow fan; you wanna be nice. grin

But if y'all don't let him know how poor his comprehension is, you're only helping to bury him.

@Presido
Nah, this ain't a deviation.
'Cos the statement that's the bone of contention here is a statement about Chelsea, and them going on an unbeaten run.
Read it all before speaking from left field.
That's what I do before I decide if something is off-topic or not. Try it. wink

@Criz. .

Isn't it amazing how we have to take this into another day? Who wants whose attention?
You said goodnight yesterday, only to wake up this morning engaging in a childish quotes of past events just to prove a point.
While you referring to my unforgivable erring in the past does justice for your present position, it still however does not justify what this whole argument was all about.

I used words in the wrong way in the past. . . .and in this case for a prolonged time. You corrected. I argued then sat back to look at it and wondered why I have always done that. I took correction and that is bygone. . Everyone has moments.

Now this is the last time I am going reply this. I am also going to try to do it in the most respectful manner.

PERSPECTIVE - The key word here.

Blip - a sudden minor shock or meaningless interruption;
http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=blip

See how I choose carefully to support my argument. . . I don't see "problem". . .
Notice the words sudden, minor, meaningless interruption. . which do well to explain my position of things. . I see us conceding from set-pieces a blip . . in the way I have defined above.
It's natural for humans to research and find texts that back up their points of view. However, proving yourself right is not the same as proving everyone else wrong.

The question is. . .  Am I wrong? . . Answer is No. .

But that really isn't the bone of contention.

The shocking situation now is that you spent hours of typing yesterday explaining why it wasn't a blip but a problem. You even required some help from Debo. . .  Take a look at this. . . This is you yesterday. .

As for your defending, you lost to Blackburn. Lost to City. Conceded 3 goals against wobbly Everton that could easily have been avoided.
You think that's a ''blip''? I don't. I think it's a problem.

Look at that . . . You clearly put differences to those two words. . "blip and problem". . Suddenly this morning you are trying to make yourself look to the world that you understood the differences or similarities (whichever applies) between blip and problem all along. . . When in your statement above, you clearly thought they were different.

You then have the audacity to self-proclaim "immense reservoirs of the knowledge of English Language" by saying

If it's a temporary problem, it's a blip. If it's long-term, it's not. But first and foremost, it is a PROBLEM.
It's amazing the way people use words without really understanding what they mean
.

What do you think this is. . Shambolic defending? . . . It's a blip and you know it . . when we sort it out; which we will, we will be flying. . ?

Was I talking about long term? What then do you mean by people using words they don't understand. . Name calling in the process as well when it's all misunderstanding from you.

What did you think I called Chelsea's situation? I called it a temporary - A blip. You said it's not. . And now you come back to say a blip is a temporary problem ? When I called it temporary all along. .?

1. You didn't know a blip was a problem. If you did you wouldn't have said I don't think it's a blip . . I think it's a problem

2. You meant to say Chelsea's problem was not temporary . .It's long term. That's why you said I don't think it's a blip . . I think it's a problem

3. You don't know as much as you want to make people believe, if you did, you wouldn't have said. . I don't think it's a blip . . I think it's a problem . . only to come back and proclaim If it's a temporary problem, it's a blip. If it's long-term, it's not. But first and foremost, it is a PROBLEM.
It's amazing the way people use words without really understanding what they mean
.

Is this not really talking about yourself. .?

You see what I mean

Now that leads us back to the main argument. I did not do great justice to myself yesterday.

Shambolic defending? . . . It's a blip and you know it . . when we sort it out; which we will, we will be flying. .

This started the seemingly never-ending story. According to the above statement, I said Chelsea have a temporary situation, we will sort it out and move on.

Now your response . . was

As for your defending, you lost to Blackburn. Lost to City. Conceded 3 goals against wobbly Everton that could easily have been avoided.
You think that's a ''blip''? I don't. I think it's a problem. Grin

At this point, you posted a counter-argument(please notice this as this is the key) . . A counter isn't in agreement with. So we can deduce that

1. You did not agree that Chelsea had a temporary situation (blip)
2. You did not think we will sort it out . . .
3. You did not agree we will be flying again.

If you agreed, why post a counter-argument? Let me show you what it means to agree.

As for the scoring part, yeah you're right
. . .

That's from you in the same post.

You first lines disagreed with me. So when you went on to post . . .

Sustain that run.  .  .not with this defense and this Cech, you won't.
I didn't say you can't climb Everest with these same players.  .  .I said not with this defense and this Cech.

The only deduction that can be made from here is that "Chelsea will not go on an unbeaten run" . . Now not because of Cech and the defence but because of this. . . .

I don't think it's a blip . . I think it's a problem  . . . Meaning I don't think it's temporary, I think it's long term. How can we you think we can have an unbeaten run when you don't see it as a blip - temporary problem. .

You see.

Your earlier post negates the fact that you said "because of shaky Cech and the shaky defence". .  rather because you think the situation is not temporary. (Blip). . So that ultimately renders the clause irrelevant. .

So when I removed the clause I knew what I was doing . . and that was why I told Debo that he doesn't know the history. Joining the argument in the middle was going to resort to basically the rudiments of English Language and the thinking that I am inadequate.

Removing the "conditional clause" becomes a valid thing. . because there is history which defines the "context" of the discussion. . Only of course if you say. . I'm sorry I didn't mean to say . .

                      You think that's a ''blip''? I don't. I think it's a problem
.

Aha! Now suddenly your latter conditional clauses become relevant and what a very silly thing will it be to say they can be removed. . but as long as the first start remains active . . . the next clauses become irrelevant because the first statement defines to a large extent the context of your disposition.

How then can we conclude that you were saying the same thing I was saying all along. ? Just how?

The conclusion from all this is that. .

You didn't know what a blip was . .
You said Chelsea's situation was not temporary, because you didn't know the meaning of blip.
You said Chelsea cannot go on an unbeaten run, (not because of Cech and the defense) because you said it's not a blip, because you didn't know the meaning of blip.

To express a strong position on a public forum is an entirely independent situation from resorting to personal insults, defamation of personality, using abusive language, and trying to make a fellow forumite look inferior because of a misunderstanding so open to interpretation, the misunderstanding could have come from yourself . .

I honestly believe the depths you have reduced to express a point is shameful and unworthy of Moderator status.
You are not fit to bear the status Moderator until you apologize publicly on this forum.

Not a single personal insult you rendered backs up your points any better so why use them?

You leave posts on the pages that insult the personalties of other forum members as long as they come from you . . yet you find yourself sitting on some moral high-ground, fit enough to issue warnings and delete posts whenever deemed necessary.

I am not doing this for myself but for the others in the future you will get into arguments with and then resort to name calling because you deem fit to misuse the the power of Moderator.

Moderation doesn't involve just deleting posts and rearranging them, it also involves conducting oneself in an exemplary manner. . . a manner worthy of emulation.

Can we get some decent moderation please.

Blip Blippity Blip grin Blip!! Blip!! Blip!! grin

God i just love NL and their "Blippity!" arguements grin

@ Nateevs

ADMIT IT!! You guys are going through a  grin Where has all your; "Chelsea will do this and that claims gone to"

@ Criz

What the "Blip" is wrong with you Only you (And She-Beast) would say that Shrek did not dive

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/article6954516.ece

"Earlier, Rooney had embarrassed himself — and all who pretend English footballers are saintlier than the foreigners. Englishmen don’t dive? Yeah, right. Having gone past Cuellar, Rooney touched the ball past Luke Young and swooned in search of a penalty. Martin Atkinson booked him. "

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/dec/12/premier-league-manchester-united-aston-villa

"some of their early poise gone and a touch of desperation creeping into their play. Rooney was booked for ludicrously diving in search of a penalty when Luke Young had already pulled out of the tackle!!"

"25 min: Rooney is booked for a preposterous dive in the area. He goes past Cuellar at high speed, stays manfully on his feet, then as he reaches the byline swan-dives ridiculously the nanosecond he passes Luke Young. That's a good decision by the referee. I wonder whether he'll have to put up with N'gog levels of opprobrium over the next week or so?"

Shrek didn't complain against the card cause he knew he was looking for it and had dived, or else he would have spit blue murder (Even "Tomato Nose" didn't even complain or spit out his gum, cause he also knew it was a dive). STOP ARGUING BLINDLY ALL THE TIME!! tongue

@ Debo and everyone else for that matter

Who knew a word like "Blip" could cause so much rancor!! grin

I hope Arsenal don't do a "Blip" against Liverpool.

grin GOONER 89

P.s. Nateevs could you also define "Bleep" for me grin
Re: Man United Vs Aston Villa [0 - 1] On Sat 12th Dec by Cristalz(f): 2:43pm On Dec 13, 2009
@Loyika
LOL grin
Whoever you quoted that from probably did not observe properly too, just like a lot of people here.
There was slight contact; Rooney exaggerated the weight of the contact and went down so easily; Atkinson decided to let it be known that he wasn't going to tolerate such attempts at deception and carded Rooney for it.

He got a yellow for attempting to deceive the ref, not for a dive 'cos there was contact. He didn't contest 'cos he wasn't in a position to; he knew he was guilty of exaggeration.

@Nateevs
I'd rather be a knowledgeable child than an ignorant elder. grin

Ain't no epistle gonna convince me otherwise, Mr. Man.
Go and learn about conditional statements and how to correctly interpret them, instead of comfortably extracting parts of the statement and saying the clause in it, the key part of the statement, doesn't count. embarassed Okay?
Before you go embarrass yourself outside.

And dude, a blip is a problem, whether it sits right with you or not. I showed it to you already.
If you refuse to accept it also, it's your English that's taking a hit, not mine.

Oh, and I'm being a darn good mod by being nice and patient enough to show you the appalling error of your ways.
You should be more grateful, you know. There aren't many like me. grin

Again, every single one of my posts meant the exact same thing.  .  .a condition was put there for Chelsea to go unbeaten.
I was completely consistent, never deviated.
You are the one that lacked/and still lack the ability to understand that. Pele.

@ Nateevs,

while your at it, you could also define these words for us; "Defensive Error", "Drogbatastic", "Cecherrorpronitis", "Cheklscummania" and "Bluenonsense" from your vast well of knowledge

Will think of more words for ya, but other NL memeber can chip in with words they don't understand. THE FLOOR IS OPEN GUYS!! grin

@Loyika grin
What kinda weird words are those? LOL grin

I hear ya.
I just don't agree he dived 'cos Young's leg slightly brushed the side of Rooney's knee. Rooney decided to milk it, which was wrong.
Perhaps I should go get magnifying glasses and re-watch in extreme slo' mo'. cheesy grin

As for Nateevs, I'll let him be when he quits trying to enforce his ignorance on my head.
I'm too nice to let him keep wallowing in it.

My message all through was the same: Chelsea will not go on an unbeaten run with their defense being this shambolic, and with Cech being this shaky.
Any body can easily understand that, but Nateevs. He cut off the clause, the key part of the statement, and went rambling in an entirely different direction. Na wa.

I had to laugh. grin What powers?
Did I delete any of your posts? Lock a thread? Ask someone to ban you?
'Cos those are the only ''powers'' a mod has got, and I didn't use any. So. . .you're being childish now. grin

I called you names, huh? Dude, you should know me. In my world, I did not even come close to insulting you, trust me. Ask those that know.

Everything I labelled you revolved around your ignorance, which makes it on point 'cos you are indeed ignorant.
If you want me to apologize for that, then you'll need to apologize for the names you called me as well. grin

I am ''not fit'', huh? Lovely. Find someone to console you if your heart is hurting. When I am wrong, I own up and apologize. You can attest to that.

The army of plonkers are out in FULL like i thunk. . . .
What is wrong with these people? United this, Rooney that. . . . We are on course to win 4th league title in a ROW.
Shame on the London clubs.

If y'all team are as good as y'all make them out to be, why did they fold their arms when United won 3 league titles in a row?
Yesterday's loss was a freak loss. United dominated and lost because they couldn't take the chances they made during the game.
Shit happens. . . . .Arsenal lost 0-3 at home. . . . . .Chelsea lost 1-3 to Wigan.

That was a United team with many of their key players missing and playing their 2nd Goalkeeper between the posts.
Only United can keep up with the battle with so many injured players out. Arsenal are still blaming their loss to Chelsea on Van Persie's injury.

3 points below the league leaders before Christmas does not look like crisis to me.
This time last season, we were 8 points below Liverpool and Chelsea and we won the league comfortably. This is Man Utd not some silly London clubs who cannot win anything to save their own asses.

United are exactly in the same position(if not better), than they were last season. 2nd in the domestic league, top of the group in Europe.
Ronaldo couldn't have stopped what happened yesterday. . . . . . . .Ronaldo played when United lost to West Ham, Fulham and Derby County when he was here.
