Yes, let's put 500,000 more people on the government's payroll, because what Nigeria needs right now is yet another unsustainable dole scheme! This announcement is evidence of Buhari's near-total intellectual bankruptcy, nothing more.

We know your type. You pained that Buhari is fulfilling his campaign promises. And if he did not, you will lead a protest to ask for his campaign promises.

You are here condemning the scheme, and I am very sure that you and your house hold will be the first to apply.

The way Ipob rants online, I was thinking no one will apply for N-power from the East

Madness.

Instead of establishing enabling environment like electricity, running water, telecoms, peaceful atmosphere, to enable growth of entrepreneurs who can then employ people, this archaic man of president is asking for loans to employ people.

Who brought this curse to Nigeria? Is govt a net employer of labour? Never.

This matter isn't about partisan politics, whether one supports Buhari or not; and he is absolutely right, the government has no business putting 350,000 more people on its payroll. This is a reckless insensible move by the President, a policy with little good but great damage to the country. As it is already, our government is already too expensive to run, and yet you want to put hundreds of thousands of more people on government payroll. Is that not madness? The Buhari admin is gradually slipping up into the decrepit failures of previous Nigerian governments. Any right-thinking Nigerian government should be rigorously pursuing downsizing, in order to allocate saved revenues into its long term developmental projects. We wonder why the country isn't developing well, yet the answer is right there before our eyes, and blatantly visible for any intelligent person to see - Government Recurrent Expenditure. This is the root of our economic problems, this is the source of our country's poverty, this is the reason for our snail-pace development. Our government is eating up the bulk of our revenues, revenues that would have gone towards national development. Yet because you're desperate to demonstrate your government is working, you want to temporarily ease the pain of 350,000 people, but simultaneously creating permanent problems for over 250,000,000 other Nigerians. Is that not chronic stupidity and wickedness? The Nigerian government has no moral justification, or any business at all employing people. If the government wants to create jobs, it should create enabling policies that bring business creation and/or expansion of existing businesses. It is the private sector that has the onus and potential to create jobs to grow a sustainable economy. You can't be creating policies that are killing businesses and forcing them to downsize or shutdown, then turn around and say you want to employ people into government. How many people will the government employ. Government's responsibility is not to create jobs, that's the job of the private sector. Government responsibility is to aid the private sector with policies that will enable the private sector create more jobs. I'm a Buhari supporter and in fact, I voted for him but this is a totally stupid policy, a mismanagement of government funds and self-sabotaging to the country.

You're obviously a mo.ron, so I shouldn't be wasting time even responding to you, but for your information, I earn my money in the hard foreign currency that Nigeria is so desperate for, and neither I nor anyone in my family will ever be desperate enough for this idiotic dole scheme. Oh, and by the way, I'm neither Igbo nor even from the SE/SS, so there goes another one of your stupid delusions.

Unthinking, tribalistic fools like you are as much to blame for Nigeria's plight as the senile old man currently undergoing prostate cancer treatment in London.
