On average, the Playstation 3 enjoyed the best games of 2009, according to entertainment review aggregation web site Metacritic.com -- and the Wii came off worst, with critics liking just 28% of its 300+ releases.

The three best reviewed games of the year were all Playstation 3 releases -- Uncharted 2, which nabbed the top spot (as well as the prized Yahoo! Games' Game of the Year gong) and the PS3 versions of cross-platform hits Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Street Fighter IV. Out of the ten most well-received games of '09, five were PS3 titles, four were Xbox 360 releases, and one was a Nintendo DS game -- the thoroughly worthy Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, if you're curious.


And the winner is,

In the year's overall rankings, the Xbox 360 landed third, behind the PC, and the portable PSP and DS came fourth and fifth respectively. The Wii brought up the rear.

Nintendo's Wii has been criticized in the past as being overwhelmed with "crappy games", but back in September its fortunes looked to be improving. Guess that didn't last long.

Oddly, Metacritics' review rankings mirror the latest set of sales figures -- but by "mirror," we mean "exactly the same, but the other way around." In the critical holiday-shopping month of November, the Wii sold well over a million units, while the Xbox 360 and PS3 mustered 819,500 and 710,400 sales respectively.

So what was the all-around worst game of the year? We think it was Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, a disastrous, Hollywood-themed adventure game with a lot of rude jokes. It managed an aggregate score of just 20%, with one critic calling it "irredeemably offensive," "a cesspool of foul language and ugly personalities," and "an inexcusable, insulting mess."

Actually, that kinda makes us want to play it.

North America does not equal the WORLD.
   The biggest shooting game released in November, and the xbox is a beast for playing FPS.
   Xbox360 had limited edition MW2 bundle
   OTHER bundles with 6 games and 2 controller for $299
   Microsoft banned over 1 million live accounts, and most of them went for a new console because of the MW2.
   Selling the arcade for only $99 at bestbuy and other top retailers.

Why the PS3  had bundles with 2 games and one controller only. with a firm price of $299.

Now tell me who is more desperate?.
