I have this vista OS laptop powered by an AMD sempron processor and a 1G RAM but it takes much time to fully boot, shutdown or open programs. Does this laptop need a processor upgrade or a RAM upgrade to make it run faster? I need contributions please. |

the only thing you may be able to upgrade is the ram, and that depends on the maximum ram of the larptop model - some laptops only support 1gb ram - happened to my cousin, he bought 2gb and installed and it wouldn't work unless your laptop is extra high end - dell precision, thinkpad w700, area51, the onl thing u can upgrade is the ram. |

The best viable upgrade option for you is the ram upgrade, but do also download a program called crapcleaner or cccleaner .Run the program and you should notice a speed increase pending the ram upgrade. |

From your description, looks like something somewhere is slowing down your system. You may have to check the no of auto start progs or even viruses. you may also consider defragmenting your hard disk.Make sure its not none of these before talking about an updrage. Good luck |
