Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has added yet another feather to her already decorated hat.

According to AllAfrica, the acclaimed writer has been elected as a honorary member into the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Letters for her contributions to the arts.

The academy was founded in 1898 as ‘an honour society’ of America’s leading architects, artists, composers, and writers. The American Academy of Arts and Letters sought to “foster and sustain an interest in Literature, Music, and the Fine Arts” by administering over 70 awards and prizes, exhibiting art and manuscripts, funding performances of new works of musical theatre, and purchasing artwork for donation to museums across the country.

The Nigerian writer was elected alongside British writer, Zadie Smith, and they will be inducted alongside others into the 250-person organization. Afterwards, an exhibition of their works will be held at the academy galleries from May 18 to June 11.

The feminist author continues to wax stronger.

Only recently, the Boots No 7 ambassador made great inroads into the fashion world after Dior’s first-ever female creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri opened the show at the Paris Fashion Week with a splash of feminist outfits. Most notable of these was a tee with the words, ‘We Should All Be Feminists’, taken from Adichie’s smash hit TEDxEuston speech of the same title
