It shows the man knows how to work very well with his deputy. Unlike in previous administrations when the deputy is just a "spare tyre".

A Yoruba friend asked me: Under what conditions would you support "One Nigeria" and let go of the Biafra agitation and let it die down and finally laid to rest for good?
Here was my response:
1. Close down Lagos ports and Open up PH, Calabar, Onitsha and Warri ports.
2. Cancel all direct and major connecting flights to Lagos and Abuja airports only local connecting flights will be allowed. While this is being done, open up Enugu, Owerri, Asaba, Uyo and PH to international flights direct and major connecting flights.
3. Ask all international and diplomatic missions to move their embassies and consulates from Lagos, Kano and Abuja to Enugu, PH and Calabar.
4. All federal governments’ agencies in Lagos and Abuja shall be relocated to Enugu, PH and Calabar. CBN, NNPC, e.t.c shall and must relocate to PH, Calabar and Enugu.
5. All multinational companies in Lagos and Abuja, shall and must relocate their offices to PH, Calabar and Enugu.
6.All oil companies must relocate their head offices to PH, as the oil capital of Nigeria.
7. Let the northern children gain admission into federal schools with 300 score points while the South Eastern Children should gain admission with only 20 score points .
8. Let all federal road projects in the North/SW should be handled by one local companies and the one in the SE/SS should be handled by Julius Berger and foreign construction companies.
If these conditions can be fulfilled and implemented for 50years , we can try one Nigeria and let see if you the North and SW will like it for a month...
Meaning, Yorubas and Hausas needing to get international visas shall travel to PH, Calabar or Enugu to do that. Same with flying or connecting flights, same with shipping and importing their goods, etc., etc.
The Yoruba friend replied: You can’t be serious, this is wickedness and I said...
Really? Don’t you think South Eastern part of Nigeria have been suffering and enduring this very same wickedness for over 50 yrs?
He was quiet for a few seconds and said: Wow, you are right but it never occurred to me. I said, that’s the problem with One Nigeria, those who are benefiting from it, love it and would love to maintain the status quo.
Let each region develop at her own pace, with Airport, Seaports, industries, major projects open to be developed in any part of Nigeria without government interference or strangulation due to tribalism and nepotism!
Let Nigeria be fair to ALL irrespective of tribe, religion, and place of birth.
Let there be true federalism and resources control, with the elimination of quota system and federalism character in Nigeria.
Let's have equal respect for one another irrespective of where the person is coming from in Nigeria.
That is what Biafra agitation is all about.

This is pathetic.

The FG has been begging IBO importers to use Eastern ports for the past 40 years.

All Oil company HQ were moved to the Niger Delta many years ago .

There are no federal government agencies in Lagos

It is stupid to say cancel international flights to Lagos.
Poryharcout International airport is there and Air France, BA and Virgin use it. Sorry Stella has messed the place up now.

I can't believe that people could think at this low level

I think we all require some education on what leadership entails.

The task of the leader is to provide a clear vision, assemble the right team to actualize the vision and motivate them to achieve.

Other responsibilities include protecting his team from the consequences of following his directions, spelling out the desirable characteristics required to excel, measuring and managing performance, rewarding excellence and accepting responsibilities for failures.

One of the greatest problems with leadership in Nigeria is the tradition of leaders always taking credit for successes by team members and looking for scapegoats for failures! How come virtually all the lieutenants of President Jonathan are facing one charge of corruption or the other but the head of the regime is yet to be indicted? Neither has he come out with any public statement in their defense!

The ability of a leader to allow his subordinates to shine is a rare quality of an uncommon leader. I do not believe it is mere coincidence that Buhari allows his lieutenants to shine - it is a quality of exceptional leadership.

In the Bible, the wisest man, King Solomon, used this same skill to achieve the construction of that phenomenal temple reputed to the one of the greatest wonders of ancient history. He used expert artisans and craftsmen from far and wide to achieve the object, after spelling out the vision to them.

All wise and successful leaders of today uses the same instrument of leverage -talk of Bill Gates & Co. See how to sprang into action to confront the new American President Donald Trump, whose immigration policy was going to restrict their access to the worldwide pool of talents! Dangote of our own jurisdiction here also adopts the same strategy to rapidly expand his business empire!

Truth is all you need is 'a few good men' in your team. The reason why good is better than evil is that a little of it is enough to obliterate a vast array of evil.

The Poet Denis Brutus wrote 'our pride-dumb mouths are grateful for the least relieve from pain' You see my fellow Nigerians, the vast darkness of the universe only make the stars shine more brightly. A star cannot shine in a lighted sky! This philosophy is the basis of the courage of good and valiant men.

Buhari himself must realise he cannot solve all problems in Nigeria by himself. His key usefulness lies in his integrity, which formed the rallying point through which the opposition succeeded in upstaging the former government that was being swallowed up in impunity.

Mind you, it will be over-simplistic to blame Jonathan alone. Recall how he came to power after being seriously compromised before the 'doctrine of necessity' was eventually evoke.

The key source of limitation for Nigerian leaders in government is that they are mostly seriously compromised before the emerge. Your reference to some members of the cabinet did not put this in perspective. I believe some of them would not have made the team if not for necessary compromises predating Buhari's accendancy. He tried on his own thrice without success, before aligning with other forces to access the presidency!
