Hmm, back when them never enter "the driver's seat"

OBJ was Military Head of State & Buhari was minister of Petroleum in that picture. Billions disappeared into London Midland bank under Buhari. And the money disappeared from there. Of course some kids on Nairaland will say it never happened.

Shagari investigating that loot was a major reason Buhari overthrew him.

They have been in driving seat since.

Great men... They have contributed their own quota to the development of our glorious Nation, Nigeria.

It is time for us, the youth to retire these great men since they have gotten to their peak and past.

We need to step in and save the nation just the same way they (Obj, Buhari) did in the 70/80s.

General Obasanjo, with the staff. See youth with swag. cool

General Buhari, dongo. With the 'if you wanna shoot, shoot don't talk' pose of a soldier.

The 60s and 70s were indeed glorious eras compared to now. Irony is these same folks are still ruling - an indictment on today's 'feeding-bottle' youth. Sissies! angry

Ironsi, Fajuyi, Nzeogwu, Gowon, Ojukwu, Hassan Katsina, 'Hannibal' Achuzie, Obasanjo, 'BS' Adekunle and so on ... a time past when men were men.

What was glorious about an era of THIEVES, rogues and barawos who siphoned our money abroad and did NOTHING to sustain the foundation they inherited from the politicians whom they overthrew in 1966
Please tell us what was glorious about these bounty hunters who WRECKED everything and we have been struggling to revive?
Is it education or is it health?
Is it roads or is it railways?
Is it electricity or is it tap water?

Why is Buhari in London for treatment if he did anything glorious in the past?
Simply a bunch of hypocrites who employ propagandists to cover up their looting ways.
What exactly was glorious about these EMPTY heads whose only claim to power is their ability to SHOOT, kill and SUBDUE their fellow citizens so no one opposes and exposes their lootocracy

Real 200 million mumu. How the youths of a nation are this senile and cowardly amazing even sane man. Despite the broad day light robbery and show of evidence without fear from the politicians, acclaimed youths of so called "Giant of Africa" see it as normal and suffering while smiling instead. Worst are the new generation youths who have shown the world that Nigeria is not ready for freedom because they are all amazingly Loco.
Please youths continue hailing the thieves you call leaders and thereafter go to church, mosque and fast and pray; I am sure things will be better as it was since 1960.

I won't have dignify u with a reply, but for ur continous peddling of rumour. You failed to realise that Alison Deziani...and NNPC under Gej refuted this lies of money missing. NNPC under Goodluck Jonathan regime disputed this this claim Here's a statement from NNPC in 2014 that explained this " The tribunal found out that in three years, NNOC had failed to collect its equity share of oil produced by Shell, Mobil and Gulf. As a joint venture partner, NNOC was entitled to 182.95 million barrels of oil production. But NNOC did not find buyers for its own share, thereby losing a potential income of $2.8 billion. But it was instead reported by the media that $2.8 billion was missing.". Even though NNPC is currently under a PDP regime they could'nt let this lie against Mohammed Buhari stand,NNPC said the allegation was false.

Even Tai Solari who started this rumour of missing billions apologised to the General when he realised it was a hoax. Again Shagari set up the Justice irikefe's panel to unravel this allege missing fund and it was found there was nothing untoward. Stop peddling hate induced lies. The investigation was concluded.

Aha! Interesing. At least you know the rumour was there. No smoke without fire. What you did not know was that the case wasn't dead. Umaru Dikko ensured that.

Anyhow, IBB is a Northerner. Even when they overthrow, they have limits to what they do to their Northern people. IBB overthrowing him was all about taking power. Especially because Buhari had refused to listen to IBB, Abacha & others and brushed their ideas aside. If you were around to listen to IBB's coup speech, you will remember. Of course some aspects would have been exaggerated. Buhari did same 20 months earlier.

IBB could have found several reasons to try Buhari in court including human rights abuse, corruption, etc. But he didn't try him.

20 months earlier Buhari also did not try Shagari in court. Hardly any core Northerner was tried. The only "core Northerner" tried wasn't really A Hausa-Fulani. His father was an immigrant to Kano. There is history & details between what you see.

I had journalists (relatives) who were close & knew too much. Buhari hounded them & fired them from their job. As far as I am concerned, the man is devil incarnate.

But Southerners were tried/investigated. Even the Southerners who were tried and found not guilty were still detained by Buhari.
Alex Ekwueme, Pa Ajasin and others come to mind.

Even Pa Awo that was not in govt had his passport seized. It took IBB overthrowing Buhari first to return the passport with apology. Shagari who oversaw the govt that was overthrown allegedly because of corruption was chilling in an AC mansion under "house arrest".

So you are the one blind to Northern Agenda. It makes me laugh to see SW pandering to this same Buhari. Very funny. cheesy grin

By the way, as for Justice Ayo G. Irikefe SAN, GCFR, & the panel you mentioned, I think you better leave the matter to those who had the opportunity to know the learned gentleman in person. Before he died in 1996. grin cheesy

You are not far from the truth if you are of the opinion that they failed us, but it is also a know fact the Buhari during his military reign was a no nonsense man. He did his best to curb corruption before he was overthrown. Obansanjo on the hand fought gallantly to restore the oneness of this country during the civil war days. He also successfully handed over to a democratically elected Shagari in the 80s. Obasanjo, in his coming back in 1999, moved the foreign reserve of the nation from 2 billion dollars up to 43 billion dollars in the period of 8 years. He also successfully cleared most of our debt.

These aforementioned, i rate as good and has contributed immensely to the Nigeria of today. I hope i am able to convince you that the oldies have done their parts.. and that our destiny is now in our hands (Youth)
