A 200 Level student of the University of Ibadan identified as Anyanwu Kingsley has been expelled from the University of Ibadan.

Anyanwu as the Kingston Dome learnt insulted not only the vice chancellor of the institution but also other principal officers and high ranking personalities.

It was reported that Anyanwu made some comments on the Student Union page during tge massive protest tagged #freemote. The comments were considered as abusive as it was directed against the VC.

According to various reports, UI is the 2nd school Anyanwu has been rusticated from though it has been denied by the person in question.

Many UI based online platforms including the Kingston Dome have all tried to reach Anyanwu but it was not possible.

According to one of his close friends who pleaded anonymity said that Anyanwu is planning on challlenging the decision made by the management of the University by appealing at the court of law in the next 14 days.

While not supporting any highhandedness on the part of UI authorities, one should also note that many of these so-called Union leaders are irresponsible.

Just like some nairalanders that can't have an argument without insulting or using uncouth words, many of these young people have also become extremely abusive, even to their leaders.

Nigerian youths must learn to make their points without degenerating to the realm of insults.

I saw how Governor Amosun asked security to collect the mic from a so-called Union leader who was abusing him in his presence the other day.

You can push your position without being disrespectful to the authorities. Free speech doesn't mean calling your VC a thief without evidence.

Nigerian universities with their autocratic style of government. Wat right does d VC have 2 expel a student based on his express freedom to air out his views. Maybe democracy does not hold sway in our higher institutions...useless vc...taking u to court would have been d least of d problems i'd have in store for u.
