Is oil money only thing on your mind? Seems like obsession. Mining helps fund budgets of these states and would help country industrialize, boost employment and diversify economy.

Interesting stats I pulled up about coal production. Despite being known as coal city Enugu produces none. Benue has rich coal reserves but doesn't produce any. Northern states like Nasarawa produce more currently.

Coal production by state (tons)

Kogi - 911,764.19
Gombe - 77,364.60
Nasarawa - 26.67
Enugu - 0
Benue - 0

Take correction guy. Helps is right work because it currently does because state collect tax revenue. By the context your using can your indicating it a possibility in probable circumstance instead of something already happening.

Mining does help state governments budgets because they can tax it under law.

Mining, Milling and Quarry Fees, where applicable

Property Tax
• Land use charge, where applicable.

Personal income tax in respect of:
(a) Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE);
(b) Direct taxation (Self-assessment)

Who God has blessed no son or daughter of Hatred can curse.

The Land of Oduduwa is blessed beyond measures. Haters should stop hating. They should just keep trooping there the way ants troop towards sugar.

By my speculation NE will over take SE in a few years in mining productivity. The NE Reconstruction plan focuses on regional potential in Gem stone and building materials production.

Borno only mines 1250 tons total.
Yobe only only mines 883.03 tons total.

This is how they have been touting mineral production in north and all that during the colonial days until document surfaced showing the worth of each of the product in which case, the palm oil from East was worth more than the whole thing produced in other regions.
Can we see the list of minerals and states where they're produced and worth of it?

All the stats are pulled from NBS. You can click on initial post to see what's produced in each state and some of potential minerals in each. The taxes local, state and federal government can levy are also found at NBS.

Yeah sure I'll post everything currently being produced.

Nigeria is sitting on money spinners but the fixation on oil and the over centralisation of power will always work against leveraging on these wealth creation avenues.
