Super Eagles’ Coach, Amodu Shuaibu has been advised to embark on marathon prayer and fasting to appease God for forgiveness.

Giving the advice during a service at his church, the founder and General Overseer of INRI Evangelical Spiritual  Church, Oke-Afa, Isolo, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, said the coach has seriously offended God.

He revealed that God is angry with the national team sweat merchant because he attributed Nigeria’s World Cup qualification to an individual, rather than give glory to God for his abundant mercy.

“Anybody who has access to Coach Amodu Shuaibu should tell him that he has offended God and he should immediately find a restitution to his sin by praying and fasting. His offence is that he openly gave God’s glory to a man created by God.

“For this singular sin, if care is not taken, Coach Amodu will be disgraced out of the Super Eagles’ camp, as Nigeria mayl not have a good performance in the Cup of Nations in Angola come January 2010. The Super Eagles will not also perform well in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa,” Primate Ayodele predicted.

Primate Ayodele, who had made some accurate predictions in the past, had said before Nigeria’s last match against Kenya that “you are not going to see the Super Eagles you would like to see. Don’t expect the team to go far, God will just help them to qualify.”

After Super Eagles’ 3-2 victory over Kenya in Nairobi, which gave Nigeria the World Cup ticket, Coach Amodu Shuaibu had gone to the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCON) to openly attribute the Super Eagles’ victory to Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua.

Some how, it becomes cleare that it is much more easier to make a headline when TB Joshua is brought into the picture.

The primate never mentioned the name of B Joshua and I assume that whoever insinuated that he refererd to TB Joshua is obviously hitting bull's eye. The question then is: How and when did Coach Amodu give glory to TB Joshua? All he did was to testify to the goodness of God in TB Joshua's church.

Let us try to do justice and avoid dragging people into issues when it is not warranted.

I totally disagree with this topic. The world cup matches is yet to kick off yet Nigerians rather than pray for success choose to wish the super eagles ill luck. These same set of people you will see jubilating if Nigerian eventually shine in South Africa.

Prophecies are simply a matter of highly streamlined statistical analysis that will always remain a likely probability until it is proven true

You will have to look at the skill, form and performance of each SE player over the past 6 months and rate him
Then you will have to look at the team as a whole in the spectrum of each formation we traditionally adopt or have used over the past 6 competitions to come up with a credible frequency.

Then you will have to look at the performance of the coaching crew and the depth of their technique in building a cohesive team

Then you will summarize all the above into a singe rating, do the same for the other team and possibly consider fan-base and support, weather conditions and even the careers of each player (are they on loan, did the get a pay rise, are they looking to ship-out etc)

With that in hand, you can come up with a prophecy that will still turn on its head to make a false prophet out of you. Nigeria/Brazil and Nigeria/Argentina at the Olympics is a case in point

I don't need a prophet to tell me what will happen to the S.Eagles next year.
Amodu will fail woefully at the nation's cup may be the worst Nation's cup outing in recent time
then he will be sacked from Angola. Soon after his sack there will be fresh clamour for a foreign coach to come
and perform miracle within a short time like we did with Berti Vogt. The foreign coach will also fail woefully at the world cup
then we will sack him and put a local coach there again. Meanwhile, our NFF will not do anything about our football until another competition
is nearby before they start to run around for how to heal our football again.

This is a country that like to run cycle. You don't need a prophet people
