Re: Osun State University (UNIOSUN ) 2017/2018 Post UTME /admission Thread by fineyemi(m): 8:12am On Oct 23, 2017
There are reasons uniosun increased her fee.

The university management added 50k to the initial amount due to the inability of the Osun state Government to reimburse the university with the money required to run the university. The university has been independent since there is lack of fund from the government. Its one of the reason y lautech went on 1 year and 4month strike.

Lautech will also be increasing her fee.

Uniosun doesn't want that to happen to her cos she care alots about her staffs and student, so..she took some drastic measures which resulted into the proposed increment of the fee for only the fresher's.

The multi million uniosun entrance uniosun road was built by the university management without the help of the Government.

But Still, we are pleading on the management to reduce it a bit cos the proposed fee is too much.

Note that the proposed fee is applicable to all new students that will be admitted into the 2017/2018 academic session which include the Part time student.

With the proposed fee, Part time programme will no longer be 5 years for new intake for the 2017/2018 academic session according to what the director disclose on Saturday at osogbo campus.

All stalite of part time will spend their 5 years completely.

2017/2018 Part time form will released this week.

1st batch merit list will be released this week. we are waiting for JAMB.

Note:
The fee is only proposed. once approved, It will be on the university website cos the management are still dialoguing about it.

breaking-newsParents have pledged to cooperate with the University in her introduction of a new tuition and school fees regime applicable mainly to the incoming fresh students, beginning from 2017/2018 academic session.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN) and a team of the University Management, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola were in attendance at a Parent Forum meeting held on Friday, 20th October, 2017 in the Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium, Main Campus, Osogbo to brief the parents on the new school fees already approved by Council.

The Pro-Chancellor, while appealing to parents to cooperate with the University said the increase was necessary to ensure that the University can continue to play its role towards the delivery of good quality education and experience to students. The proposed tuition and fees is expected to shore-up the university finances which has continued to dwindle owing to serious decline in state government’s subvention to the university.

With respects to provision of hostel accommodation for the students, he urged the rich among the parents to support the University financially and partner with it to build hostels within the University campuses as it is safer for students to reside on campus than living off-campus.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola further assured the parents that the school fees increase would not apply to the existing students till they graduate from the University.

He however explained that the University has introduced a unified payment system in which all fees including Departmental, Association and other related fees will be paid online at once to the University account as this will enable the university management to monitor all dues being paid by the students and ensure transparency and accountability.

The Vice-Chancellor also informed the parents that the University will commence the Tertiary Institution Social Health Insurance Programme (TISHIP from 2017/2018 session. Under the TSHIP scheme, each student will be registered and insured with a fee of five thousand naira (N5000.00) per session. The benefit of the health insurance programme for the students include access to quality healthcare services in the University Health Centres and NHIS-registered hospitals across the country. He further informed the Forum that student leaders had been fully briefed on the TISHIP, which they all have embraced.

The University, according to Professor Popoola, has also introduced a 5% discount in the school fees for students who make full payment before November 20, 2017, which is the resumption date. He announced adjustments in the penalty for late registration, which now starts from 5% of the student's school fees in the first two weeks of the stipulated late registration period and gradually increases by 1% every subsequent week.

The parents, who assured the University of their full cooperation, thanked the Management for excluding the existing students from payment of the new school fees.

Good day guys, an idea was brought before me yesterday evening regarding the increment of uniosun school fees which is unfavourable to the fresher. The idea was that we( freshers and parents) should voice out we should let the public know what we think about the issue cause the decision was make without the freshers consent, so it was said that if any one(obviously parents) knows any one at our broadcasting stations should please contact such person to broadcast our predicament until something is done about it
Thank you very much

Bro be very careful on what you do. You've not been admitted you already giving the school reasons not to admit you. The increment is too much accepted but this move is a radical one considering you've not been admitted yet
