It is remarkable that they are now using plastic containers.
This is a big improvement in the VALUE chain for farm produce and we should move towards COLLAPSIBLE designs for even easier handling.
Kudos to the farmers who feed us and hope they get BIGGER monetary rewards as we look inwards for our feeding instead of imported things.
BTW, our government needs to SPECIFY local content for Shoprite supermarkets products also.

Commendable. We hope to see more of this in the days ahead.

God bless Nigeria.

Reno O'mockery, who do we "blame" for this?

Unless we want to erase history or deceive ourselves, this was GEJ trains, built for passenger and goods travels. The trains APC during the campaign said didn't exist then later said they existed, but were "locomotives".

Unless we want to lie to ourselves.

if u ask me, I tell you this. Goodluck Jonathan must receive the commendation here. Goodluck massively constructed rail track across Nigeria and brought back the trains.

After you have condemned the works done by GEJ, you are here ascribing his glorious works to the current government?
For one, am glad this government is claiming credits for the jobs done by her predecessor. It spoke volumes of her level of commitment.

The Lagos to Kano track had been there and functioning but just for passengers only even before GEJ had a dream of going into politics

So moving tomatoes with train for 38hrs from Kano to Lag is Progress? When d same quantity can be moved by by Trailers in less than 14hrs. Moving Cargos from Apapa or PH or Warri to Inland Ports in such hours would have been a PROGRESS as it will drastically decongest those already over-stretched ports, and many jobs will also be created.
Guy you must be high on something, you insinuating a Trailer can move from KANO to Lagos in 14hrs? Lol... On which road with the congestion and pot holes. When was the last time you travel? If I may ask you how many hours did you think a private car can travel from Lagos to Akure and we take it from there.

no one is disputing the facts there once were rail tracks and there was a railway corporation. But we all know that rail travel was stopped in the '80s.
Argue what you like. You can't hide the fact that GEJ revived rail transport as a president through massive renovations and construction of tracks as well as purchase of trains with money u claimed he stole.
Today, u are struggling hard to erase his name from history. God is watching you.

Business Plan And Feasibility Study

The best way to set up and expand a business is to do proper planning for the business.

‘A well planned business stands the test of time and opens door for opportunities’
Do you need a well written business plan with good product analysis, competition analysis and financial analysis to develop your business, grow your business, access fund and loan from microfinance banks, Bank of Industry (BOI), Bank of Agriculture (BOA) and other financial institutions to set up or expand your business?

Do you also need customized or readymade Business plan to benefit from Government Empowerment Programs?

It's taken more than necessary to arrived, about 48hrs for perishable goods, they should improve on the speed and stopover. It can be achieved within 24hrs..
you are right but it's still better than travelling by road. it can only get better

High on u, of course. Did Lagos report any Tomato shortage for d past 58years? The existing distribution channels and media are still productively running. But, know that this is purely a private Agrulic Expo organized by First Bank and not a public stuff as u insinuated.

And who do we hold culpable for the recession we are in? Plz be honest. If Gej shud be held high for the rail that wasn't conveying goods during his tenure, then he too should shoulder the blame for plunging Nigeria into recession. Remember policy nature with time.

Call them _aboki, call them animals, call them worreva but we need them. It shows that every section of the country is important and should not be underrated. Truth

Lets shut up. They are liability. Every land in Nigeria can grow rice and tomato. Northerners have access to Agriculture loan more than the rest of the country. Buhari made sure of that.

Let the north break away, all other tribes can grow tomoatoe. Enough of this hype.

Simply substantiate your fact in the first post...where you said the Trailer can move from KANO to Lagos in 14hrs? Am not here to argue about shortage of tomatoes in the past 58 years.

The problem with people like you is that you never see any good thing in the current government efforts. And with the hatred in you, you make statements you can't justify. How can someone claim Trailers can travel from KANO to Lagos in 14hrs.

HABA...Lets be reasonable sometimes, everything shouldn't be about politics.

I am having a thought about this you know. It could bring down the prices of tomatoes consumed by the poor and Ordinary Nigerians. Think about it. This does not mean that tomatoes will not be transported by road anymore, the rich and big corporations like the 5 star hotels, shopping malls etc will go for the train transported tomatoes for freshness and class, while ordinary Nigerians will go for the Mile 12 tomatoes that came on road. It then means the rich won't have to come and distort the prices of the poor in the market for the poor. They pay just about any amount to buy the same thing the poor man is struggling to beat down the price for. Tomatoes for the super rich thru cold train and Tomatoes for the average Man thru 911. Just my thinking. Right or wrong.

That's a good one. Lets see how it goes.

I called a Friend in Enugu who works in Railway and he told me that its only Lagos - Kano rail coaches that have temperature controlled rooms.

Well, this program is still at pilot phase sha. With ttime it'll get to other parts of Naija.

Nigerians are wonderful people.

How we turned this thread that is the hard work of collaboration between business men and an International donor agency into an ethnic bashing/GEJ or Buhari praising thread is unfortunate.

What this thread should teach us is how we can exploit loopholes in our agro value chains and become richer than Dangote in less than 10 years without having to lick any politicians' hairy behind.
