The interior is extraordinary

I suspect that it's primarily designed for heads of state, especially middle-eastern heads of states.

The idea for the G Wagen (forerunner of the G Class) was originally given to Mercedes Benz in the 1970s by the Shah of Iran (who owned a lot of shares in Daimler Benz). Lots of heads of states bought them at the time (Shagari's government bought lots of Mercedes Benz/Puch G Wagen and the G Wagen became the presidential review car c1981).

Nigerian presidential review vehicle. President Shagari replaced the old Land Rover review vehicles with Mercedes Benz G Wagens.




Heads of state use landaus so that they can stand in the vehicle and wave to the crowd on the street. The most famous Mercedes Benz landaulet is the Mercedes Benz 600 State Landaulet (W100), especially the Pullman version. King Hassan of Morocco had one. One was specially made to convey Queen Elizabeth when she visited Germany in 1966.

The Maybach nameplate indicates that the vehicle is an ultra luxury limousine (Pullman) version.
