Data collected from the Global Firepower Index (GFI) and Credit Suisse reviled an annual ranking that assesses nation's armed forces and the most powerful militaries in the world
The following analysis are in terms of the active aircraft, military personnel, naval power, resources and budgetary finances.
Findings showed that:

• The United States has the best-equipped military on the planet.

• Both Russia & China have been modernising their armed forces, and while their equipment still lags behind top-end American technology, experts say the gap is closing.

• The French military is larger and arguably more capable than its traditional British rival.

• Italy is stronger than Germany in every area, from aircraft and land forces to seapower.

Here are the 50 most powerful military nations, and Nigeria ranks 44th position in the world.

1. United States is definitely the world's undisputed leader in terms of military strength.

I dont believe Nigerian soldiers are lesser trained than their South African counterparts,only less equipped(grossly so).
The boko haram war has so far initiated a widespread training and re-training of vital NA regiments and units,we are now miles ahead from where we were a few years back,in terms of training anyway.
Forget the bush war,the last time the SANDF entered an armed conflict was three decades ago(their recent operation in C.A.R was largely a disgrace).What the southies have got on their side is sophisticated hardware and advanced military technology.Their military industrial complex is quite top grade too.
