75. COUNTLESS

I couldn't see clearly inside the darkness but I managed to get myself up. I staggered backwards and stumbled on the bed

The party at the nearby compound was still going on with DJ Huntsman doing what he knows how to do best thereby rendering it practically impossible for anyone to know whats going on inside our room

A hand dragged me back on my feet by holding the rumpled collar of my shirt and dealt me another blow on my right cheeks. I winced and groaned in total pain and collapsed on the bed again.

"you bastarrd! How could you?.....how could you do that to me?" cried a familiar voice. It was Jide's voice

I groaned deeply and rose up again, still trying to adjust my eyes into the darkness and trying to locate where he was standing

I saw him when he was about to rush at me and thanks to my active reflexes, I quickly stepped aside thereby causing him to fall on the bed

I hurriedly pounced on him before he could turn around and tamped him with all my power and strenght on the bed

"Jide!....." I tried catching my breath "why? What did I do? Whats wrong with you?" He was trying desperately to wriggle himself out of my firm grip on him but I managed to restrain him from doing so "Are...you under a....spell?"

"let me go and...you will see if am under a spell or not, you this backbitter!". He said with muffled tone

"what! Me? A backbitter?......" I was still pondering on his words when he suddenly used his back heel to knock me from behind and that made me lose my grip on him as he hurled me over on the bed and pounced on me.

"I swear, you are so dead today!....." He declared with an angry tone and landed a blow on my stomach. The pain was so severe to the extent that I was praying for death

He started slapping my face vigorously and I was doing a very poor job at ducking it. My strenght was gradually fading away due to the effects of the alcohol and the punches I received ealier from him

This went on for what seems like eternity but it was less than 7secs in reality before the door suddenly flew open and Mr Ifa rushed inside and switched on the light before he ran towards the bed and pulled Jide away

I rolled down to the floor in pains and relaxed to regain my strenght

"let me kill that guy! Just let me kill him!!" I heard Jide voiced out with contempt after Mr Ifa had sucessfully pulled him away from me

"wo bi arakunrin (look here young man), you won't kill eachother in my house! Not in this house! I didn't use a human blood when building my house and am not gonna let you idiots paint it red with your stupidity!" Mr Ifa thundered with an angry tone

I stood up and saw that Bukky and her Mum was also inside the room. Their faces was laced with concern and worries

"Ji....de....what did I do? Why do you suddenly want to kill me? We are suppose to be br...."

"brothers right?" He curts in and tried to accost me but Mr Ifa held him back "tell that to the brother you lied to, and the one who nearly died because of your flirty mouth!"

"what! Lied to you? About what Jide!" I said with a raised voice of confusion

"you claim to be in church for vigil at midnight! But instead you bastarrd son of a thousand fathers was busy fvcking that b!tch! Favour! at the hotel!".

"Darous you are a devil! And a lying one for that matter!.....listen carefully! This is far from over....one of us is going to die this night unless I don't meet you here!". He declared furiously and stormed outside

"Damilare, pele pele o (meaning- Damilare, take it easy o)." Bukky's Mum stated in the local dialect and left the room with her daughter leaving only Mr Ifa with me

"Omo, (son)". Mr Ifa spoke gently after some minutes of silence. "you have to leave the house for this night o, maybe you should go and stay at my friends house at Imale, we will settle everything in the morning when your friend has calm down."

Mr Ifa escorted me out of the house to the main road where I board a late night bike that was heading to Imale

'Gawd I fvcked up. How could I have kept such a secret from him and expect him not to find out later? Darous you didn't fvck only Up, you fvcked every direction, Up, down, left, right, even middle. I should have explained to him'

This were the guilty thoughts that keeps popping into my brain as the Bike man approach Imale

'but wait, how did he even know that I already met Favour? I didn't tell him, then how did he found out? Or Jessica? Yes Jessica! That twathole must have told him while I was busy with at the party! Gawd this girl is so dead tonight!

I need to see her this night cos she already told me yestday that she only does night work and I don't have her number. Tonight is my best chance at seeing her before I go back to Abeokuta tomorrow Sunday

"oga, please can you take me to Nitel this night?" I asked the bikeman. He refused at first but when I told him that I will tripple the payment, he agreed and made a U-turn towards the direction of the brothel

I dropped a 1k note on his desk and headed towards room 15

Half the way, a dark and very fat lady was standing at the entrance of her own room and was winking at me.

"hey handsome, come and let me fvck you well well." She said seductively pulling her thongs aside and thereby revealing her dark pvssy. I looked at her scornfully, she reminds me alot about Beauty and Pretty, those two fat distant cousins of the devil and how I suffered at their hands. I just hissed and made to continue walking away but she pulled me back and repeated the same statement.

Feeling irritated, I leaned over to her and placed my mouth beside her ear

I got to room 15 and landed a knock on the door

I stepped inside and locked the door. She smile excitedly when she saw that it was me and rose up from the bed.

I watched and listened keenly while she spoke to her friend and the door opened barely a minute after the call. The same lady that accompanied her to the party came inside and testified to it that Jessica didn't even utter a single word to Jide after I left the table.

"then how did he know that I was here yestday?" I asked feeling totally confused

"ah no know o. I was even suprised when you started winking at me, because your friend was even here yesterday night before you came into my room."
I was busy gathering the pieces of her words when her last statement stung my brain

"what! Jide was here? Yesterday?" I moved closer to her and stared at her face eagerly waiting for her response

"don't tell me you didn't know....I thought...."

"thats a lie! That can never be! Never! Maybe your eyes was seeing double...cos Jide doesn't even know this place atall...atall!"

"I don't know how he got here o, I thought you came here together when I saw you with him at the party which was why I wanted to talk about Favour before you started winking at me."

I was lost in thoughts for some minutes before I spoke again

"tell me, which type of cloth was he putting on?"

"erm.....I think a red polo shirt...and erm...a black pant trousers...thats what he was wearing yesterday". She stated confidently

Jessica was right, he was wearing that same cloths when I saw him came inside the room in the morning after I got home. I thought he must have slept off while watching film in the sitting room which was why I didn't ask him anything. I remembered that I passed through the back terrace of the house in the morning which explains why I couldn't ascertain wether Jide was in the sitting room or not

'But what could Jide be doing here at the brothel? How did he even know this place? Where did he got the money that he used to board a cab down here all the way from Mr Ifa's house?'.

This were the questions that kept banging in my head before someone barged inside Jessica's room panting heavily.
