THE National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Baraje has said the nation is not in any danger over President Umaru Yar’’Adua’s sickness as being widely speculated in some quarters.

According to him, Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan is fully in charge and work was going on well without any fear.

Speaking with newsmen on Saturday in Ilorin, Kwara State, Alhaji Baraje said he was always in contact with President Umaru Yar’Adua who was on the sick bed in Saudi Arabia , saying that his absence did not portend any danger for the country.
Baraje, who called on Nigerians to always have confidence in their leaders, said they should have compassion for their leaders and ensure that they pray for them whenever they were ill, for quick recovery.

“The party is fully behind Mr President and the Vice President and the support is waxing stronger and stronger and they are in control”, he said.

He advised that Nigerians should stop sensationalizing any little thing that was in the country, rather, they should always find a way of assisting the nation through good image laundering.

Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna, chairman of the Coalition and the state chairman of the Labour Party, Mr. Umaru Mohammed said that Nigerians should be prepared to invoke the nation’s constitution to deal with the situation.

Umaru Mohammed, ,also the Deputy General Secretary of the National Union of Textiles, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, joined those calling for prayers for the quick recovery of the president, adding that that it was evident that the Nigerian nation was sick at the moment.

He said there was a time frame for the president to be away from office for whatever reason, after which, the constitution will take its course, adding that it has never happened anywhere in the world that a sitting president will rule his country from another country, as being suggested by the was Justice minister and chief law officer of the federation.
