john 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto Him,verily verily I say unto thee, except a man be horn again he cannot see the kingdom of God..

john 3:5 " Jesus answered verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born of water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God...

so I think water and spirit baptism is very necessary..

The Summary of The Laws, is, "Love God and love yourselves". Water Baptism unite Christians with themselves. Spirit Baptism unite The Faithfuls with The Supreme Spirit.

the new covenant with the church, water baptism is much important. the apostles were baptised by Jesus when he washed their feet, and all others after them including Paul. The men during the time of law needed not baptism for there was no repentance. paraphrasing John the baptist, he said"repent and be baptised". in law they was atonement for sin which required not baptism.

The question is 'is water baptism really necessary to fufil all righteousness?'..

There are great men in the bible that are righteous and didnt do baptism(e.g abraham, enoch was righteous that he didnt even die,job etc)..Peter also said that 'be baptize in the name of holyspirit...'

And jesus christ also did baptism b4 starting his ministry..

So the question are:do we need water baptism before we are save?..if i dont have water baptism,am i still a devoted christian?..if i dont have water baptism,we i still make heaven?..so many question to ask buh will stop there..

Abraham, Enoch etc you mentioned are of the old testament saints and water baptism was not emphasized all thru d old testament. However in the new testament it is emphasized. The word Christian means 'like christ' and the standard for Christians is our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ had to be baptized to fulfill his ministry and as Christians so do we if we follow Christ. In baptism we partake in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.
I hope this helps you

Jones4190:
According to the Bible, the symbolism of baptism
declares that three things happen to believers who are
baptized: (1) they die with Christ to their old self; (2) they
rise with Christ to become a new creature; and (3) they
are incorporated in their new life with a living community
which looks for the coming of the Lord (Romans 6:1-11).
Contrary to what some denominations teach, it seems
obvious that a Christian's baptism must necessarily
require a responsible decision to accept Jesus Christ as
Savior and Lord, and therefore, must be delayed until an
age of reason or discretion (knowing right from wrong
within God's perspective).

Do u wait for your child to reach a certain age to decide for him or herself that food is good for him bfre u give him food, or decide that sch is good for him or her bfre u take him to sch....who makes this decisions for the child??...You!!!...... So if u can make these worldly decisions for ur chikd ,is it out of place to make spiritual decisions for him or her too??

Immerssion baptism is sacrosanct to Christian living/practice.

Matt. 28:19-20;
Mark. 16:15-16.
The above is known as the great commission. You should be interested in knowing that JESUS-CHRIST did not commission baptism until after his resurrection. So, it is a very important command which Jesus gave when he was no longer human.

Take note that the Apostles did not convert any single person into Christianity without baptising such a convert.
Examples includes
1, The 3000 people in Acts chapter 2;
2, The Ethopian Eunock in Acts chapter 8;
3, The Jailor in Acts chapter 9;
Connelius in Acts chapter 10.

Water baptism is an ancient practice long before Christianity that signifies rebirth. The Egyptians used the water from the nile to "purify" new born babies or a way to initiate new converts into secret cults. A way to be born into a new way of life. Christianity obviously adopted all these pagan ways of life, including " sun - day" worship of the Sun

It's part of Christian worship. We are following Christ so where he leads we follow. However, if situation does not permit a real believer I mean real child of God from being baptized before death it's no barrier to heaven. The same thing applies to circumcision. We should strive to repent, confess our sins to God and get baptized. It's ideal.

By specifically stating ā€¯water baptism", I assume you already know that there are two types of baptism- water baptism and the baptism of fire(holy ghost).
Each of them has a purpose but I would dwell on the purpose of water baptism so that you'll know if it is really important.
According to Matthew 3: 11,
The baptism of water is a mark of repentance. So it is only for those who had completely repented and are ready to live a new life that is free of sin. Sadly, many Christians today are abusing the water baptism as they are doing it without complete repentance and will still wallow in sin afterwards. But with or without water baptism, God knows all those who had repented completely and are living a holy life. For this reasons, I think water baptism isn't too important or necessary for salvation.
Re: Is Water Baptism Really Important? by Lex11(m): 3:28pm On Mar 26, 2017
Water baptism (like circumcision, and other ceremonial acts in the Old Testament) had to be traditionally fulfilled. Yet, they were pointing to the spiritual washing of the soul, spiritual circumcision of the heart... acts only God Himself can perform "with the washing of water by the word" (Ephesians 5:26), Rom 10:17.

"Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." - Ezekiel 36:24-26

"The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" - 1 Peter 3:21

So, water baptism is commendable practice, but should not relied on as the automatic solution for salvation, The Word of God should. Keep reading, keep praying.

Blessings!

Friday is a day for Venus if you want to know. Everyday week day is named after a star body as you know tomorrow is moon- day. Happy Sun-day meanwhile wink.

By the way the clock went forward in England today in preparation for the month of Aries/ April, the rising of the Sun( Easter)

what about acts 1 verses 5 that said water baptism is not compulsory

Acts 1:5 says: For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

This passage never said water baptism was compulsory or not nor did I in my post. It was instead about Jesus informing His disciples that although John the Baptist baptized with water they would be baptized with the Holy Spirit soon.

If Jesus said water baptism was not important why we're the disciples baptising before and after His resurrection.

Water baptism IS important and desirable WHEN possible. It does not nor can prevent entry into heaven.

John's Baptism was relating to repentance.
Christ Baptism relates to (not repentance as most believe) resurrection and life, by the realisation of God's Kingdom

First of all let's ask ourselves why did Jesus let John to baptize him?

Water Baptism does not save. But it is a necessary part of fulfilling your obedience to God. To fulfill all righteousness hence Jesus who didn't need it submitted Himself to it. It is a public demonstration of your inner conversion. Only saved people should be baptised. But more often than not, that's not the case. It is also your public identification with Christ. It involves three processes:lowering into the water-Death, deeping burial raising up resurrection with Christ Roman's 6:4,Col.2:12,Matt.3:13-17
Re: Is Water Baptism Really Important? by Ken4Christ: 5:16pm On Mar 26, 2017
The Church doesn't need water baptism anymore.

John the Baptist who introduced it foretold of a superior way of baptism that Jesus will perform.

He said,

Matthew 3:11.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.

John says he does his baptism with water but Jesus will do his with the Holy Spirit.

See what Jesus himself said,
Acts 1:5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

There is one baptism - Ephesians 4:5.

Water baptism was a symbol of the Holy Spirit and now that the reality has come, you don't have any business doing water baptism.

Yes, some early Disciples did water baptism because they were still learning.

Apostle Paul was the only one that said God did not send him to baptize with water.

What you need is the Holy Spirit baptism. The Holy Spirit is what seals your salvation - Ephesians 1:13.

Baptism is one of the prerequisite for making heaven once you have grown to the age of distinguishing good from evil. "Baptism is death to sin and resurrection to life" and it must be by immersion. Baptism is public declaration that I have accepted to follow Christ and His laws. We can also read Acts 2:28-39, mark 1:8, Acts 1:5, Acts 11:16, 1cor 12:13, Romans 6:3-7

John 3 : 5
Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

Christians must learn to accept the words of the Bible regardless of what you think, how you feel, what you have been taught or what you like because the Bible is very clear on this matter and Jesus christ himself made the above statement without mincing words so why should any Christian say otherwise.

From that passage both the baptism of water and that of the spirit are mandatory for salvation and are inseparable, you can't take one and leave the other neither does any supersede the other. If someone is baptized with water and refuses to allow the holy spirit lead him to live the new life he has been baptized into he is not different from one who has accepted christ but has refused to be baptized of water ( regardless of the amount of holy spirit in him) the Bible says both will not enter the kingdom of God.

The baptism by water indicates that we are partakers of the death of christ on the cross for our sins and his resurrection to life (baptism by water is saying i am one of those christ died for on the cross) , while baptism by the spirit is what enables us to continue living in the newness of life into which we have been baptized.

The central theme in baptism by water is 'justification by faith', which means instead of us being judged based on our works we are judged based on our faith in the righteousness of christ which is substituted for our sin by his death on the cross and we exemplify this believe by water baptism for those living after christ(pointing us back to the cross) while for those before christ it was by sacrificing a lamb representing or pointing forward to Jesus' death on the cross. That is why it was not practiced before the coming of christ.

I pray that God will grant us understanding of his word in Jesus name.

There is one baptism and it is the Holy Spirit Baptism - Ephesians 4:5.

John the Baptist carried out water baptism apologetically and foretold of a more perfect way - The Holy Spirit baptism.
