Psoul:

Are you for real? You mean that Ordinary Diploma (OND) and Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri, should not start with capital letters? This is a serious case.

Well, u may be correct depending on the schools you attended.

Yes, I attended a good school and I put it to you once again, you are wrong on the previously highlighted.

"You were told nouns should be started with capital letters", pls who told you that?
I said, is table not a noun? If I say "that is a table", is it wrong?

Pls, find out that difference between proper and common nouns. Even if you don't good have books, Google is your friend.

If you had said "proper nouns are spelt with initial upper case letters" I have nothing to say, but when you say "nouns are always started with capital letters ", I repeat, you are dead wrong. Quote me anywhere.

There is a difference between proper and common nouns.
Eg, is "book" not a noun? If I say, "this is my book", is it wrong? Or you mean I should say "this is my Book"?

Very fast in condemning when they are actually the condemnable.

Also, do you give the heading "LETTER OF APPLICATION" in an application for employment?
Dude, don't be too fast in talking about schools attended because if that should be taken into consideration, your school needs to be checked.

Oga, I never doubted your Noun and Proper Noun stuff. I just asked u a question based on the context of the letter and you are here answering out of context. Are we here to learn and educate or to argue?

Still asking my question, You mean to tell me that the highlighted words in the application letter are wrong?

They are wrong actually and I agreed with your corrections ie starting those words with initial upper case letters. But my argument is when you said nouns should be spelt with initial upper case letters. That is where I said it is not applicable to all nouns but proper nouns. I don't know how you took it but I wasn't disagreeing with your corrections. The only point that threw me off balance is when you questioned the school I had attended because I made a contribution which I had assumed will be okay by you.

Out of a deep concern, passion and determination to see that polytechnic education in Nigeria, and of course Africa, takes a new, exalted and referred position among the community of higher institutions; and also out of strong desire to see that polytechnic students, and graduates alike, become quintessential graduates that can compete with any graduate anywhere in the world, The Voice Of Nigerian Polytechnic Student was founded and is planned to be castle where poly students would be groomed and oriented and then the general image of the Nigerian polytechnic education system recast.
Are you polytechnic student or graduate? Join your colleagues on the page and build a network that would help you through your academic sojourn in the Polytechnic and in labour market!
