Those Cheering Against Kemi Olunloyo and For Pastors Ibiyeomie & Sulaiman Will Regret

So Men Of God Do Pray & Trafficate

Abusing the privilege of free press is bad, but locking up sexual accusers as a deterrent to discourage sexual abuse report is worse. The right many societies has given women to report sexual harassment or abuse is a balancing act. We expect some loud mouths, no matter how notorious, to abuse that right. But it must never get to where those of us falsely accused must use police without due process, to lock them or their relatives up.

Powerful men of God had used heaven and hell to threaten anyone that crosses their line by publishing or revealing their sexual escapades, that takes time. They now call on the police to lock up disenchanted without due process. It was what military politicians used to do when any journalist wrote against them. Nigerian press was too vigorous to repress then or now. They moved from one house to another at night to print their stories. We have internet now, it is more difficult even for erring pastors to suppress.

Before that was Lagos Weekend that printed all types of salacious stories about anyone that had to be exposed. Unfortunately, most were unfounded gossips to sell newspaper. Powerful men have become thin skinned and unforgiven since then and are ready to deal with anyone by any means including instant justice by using their believers, threats, police to lock up alleged accusers and the courts by imposing excessive or no bail.

Trust is a very formidable aspect of life, without which little can be accomplished. However, we must keep our eyes open when we cry, says one Yoruba proverb. Also keep one eyes open when we pray. People that are taken advantage of when they trust are not necessarily stupid. Indeed, most cannot believe how much they rely on trust until after the fact. In order to get people to rely on men of God, they must gain their confidence before they gain their trust. Lovers’ quarrel has nothing to do with trust.

Since men and women fall into this trance, we should not be surprised that respectable ladies fall into the lap of pastors, stars, the rich and powerful. We may call it abuse of trust, which is true but not different from that of the Catholic Priest that abuses minors and children. Each time we are down and we seek salvation, we become vulnerable. Respectable scientists, doctors and researchers when struck by incurable diseases or cancer, have sought quacks in countries unimaginable.

Some Pastors and Imams use God we claim to serve to commit deviant behavior contrary to the simple norm of a civilized community. Just as politicians betray our trust, Imams and Priests cover themselves in cloaks of religion to send young men and women to war, swear in the name of God as if delivering the masses while stealing from them.

You can get enough believers in prayers around the world to contribute whatever money they have into individuals’ coffers, decadence and narcissism. Some of us are gifted speakers that can use the power of words to get people spellbound as if they are being hypnotized. When we believe that our prayers will pay off, we work towards that goal with all we’ve got including self-sacrifice, money and devotions instead of effort.

Prayers can be powerful when linked to God or used to boast confidence. Some love Psalm 23 “The Lord is my Shepard” in trying times. So we get so disappointed when pastors are caught trafficating outside their lanes or suddenly found out that the noble Iman is also a jujuman. But so is inspirational speech like that of Churchill to the British Soldiers – Once more unto …, Yoruba Oriki, incarnation or curses linked to the devil.

Pastors with their spells on followers build statues, mansions, ride luxury cars and airplane from excessive profit they make from masses buying their business of hypocrisy and wares. They hide money off-shore refusing to pay their share while tithes from helpless looking for salvation are used for fornication. Humans are so complex, not even behavioral scientists entirely understand how the different prayers hypnotize humans.

We pray so much, the whole world is still waiting for the Messiah while the rich make fortune in bundles by hypocrisy as ardent followers of God. If prayers only come from one source and only from all powerful being that moves heaven and earth, Africa in general and Nigeria in particular would be a place of technological or economic miracle.

Look, some ladies are so attractive they will test the resolve of the Pope. Before he got to be the Pope, he was a younger man trusted and revere. If he had yielded to these temptations, his ascendance to papa-ship could have been derailed. It is not that the beautiful tempting ladies could not help themselves, the fact is some see an opportunity to use their beauty as power to conquer weak flesh. Bodi no be wood nah!

The same is true about men that seemed greatly endowed. We often joked about that our office secretary that came in to tell us about an encounter that scared the hell out of her. On her way to work she saw a mad man on the street walking Unclad. What she noticed more than anything else was how heavily endowed he was under. A young man caught for sleeping with a married woman, was paraded Unclad. As his manhood moved back and forth, wondering cats cried: meow, I want that big piece of meat too!

Normally, a man like that would not attract another man nor would a beautiful lady attract another lady. But sometimes humans’ brain are so complex or wired differently. We wonder how deranged a pious priest or a pastor of God can betray the trust of his congregation and when caught, cry like Jim Baker or Jimmy Swagger for mercy. These are the same people that abuse married women and children while “happily” married.

When people found out that they have been taken, their first reaction is not to believe they are not as smart or savvy as they thought. So they go through the process of denial. They go through a stage when they wonder if they should back out, consolidate or stop throwing away more good money after bad money or wait in case their suspicion turned out wrong. Before buyers, voters or lovers’ remorse set in, they usually give it one more try.

Absolute thrash written by a mind that struggles with common sense!!

Pastors Ibiyeomie and Suleiman did not "arrest" their defamers, rather they sued their defamers and the law enforcement agencies made arrests in order to obtain statements from the accused and subsequently charge them to court. It is the fundamental right of every citizen to seek redress in the law courts when they feel harmed by another citizen, and that right can be enjoyed by anyone whether a pastor or a pagan! So stop being silly and blaming pastors for taking matters to court when they feel blackmailed!

Sir,

Which one is your church again?

If we go by your standard of defamation or criminal defamation or military defamation that you guys are using, half of the population of any country would be locked up. At the same time, no lady, wife or even prostitutes would dare file complain against any abusers, politicians or pastor.

you're very far from the truth, defamation of character(libel) is a civil case and does not involve the police. the pastors can sue for damages and serve the court summons to the woman.it's also left to the lawyers to prove to the judge that their character have been defamed by the woman in question. it's a civil case and does not involve the police or imprisonment.the said pastors are just using their connection against the woman, just like Suleiman got that his female accuser locked up in Abuja until a high ranking lawyer got involved.

Abouzaid,

There is still hope as long as people like you and the writer continue to speak out. Not only are pastors powerful because of the number of their followers, notorious people are hard to defend. It is not about Kemi but about many innocent ladies and children. Children of Catholic priests that were abused worldwide have come out and many got treatments and compensation EXCEPT in African countries.

Leave that to the court. There are two courts handling the issues. Do not prejudice the case.

But how do we fight corruption impunity and stupidity when we have your likes defending the perpetrators.

Now I know you are either a liar or you are grossly ignorant of basic facts concerning these cases. Point of correction; In the case of Apostle Suleiman and Stephanie, the police moved in to arrest Stephanie after she threatened Apostle Suleiman to either pay her N500million or she would blackmail him with a sexual allegation. She was reported to the police, and the police moved into action to first arrest her to obtain a statement before charging her to court. If you were in the Apostle's shoes, you would have done the exact same thing he did if you were innocent, which is reporting someone trying to blackmail you to the police, except if you are guilty of the allegation and you succumb and decide to pay the money to the blackmailer. so stop being a hypocrite and acting like you will have somebody threatening to blackmail you and you will fold your hands instead of reporting to the police. And whatever the police does after you report the matter is not your business because you are not their commander or the one teaching them how to do their job!

the involvement of the police have already prejudiced the case, if she gets a top lawyer like Femi falana, this case would quickly see the pastor bolt like pastor Suleiman did.

we're not fools here, saying whatever the police did after the complain does not consign the complainant is been smart by half, the police did what they did because they have been paid to do it.we all seeing that once a nationally known lawyer came to her defense, she has been giving press conferences and narrating all that she wants without either the police or pastor Suleiman harassing her, i laughed when pastor Suleiman accused her of having links to boko haram, that was so childish

You must have been there when they were 'paying' the police to do their job after reporting a blackmail threat to them na.....or rather, you must have been the one Apostle gave money to help pay the police to? You are in your house, and you've never met Apostle Suleiman or Stephanie Otobo before, but you know everything that happened between them already, and you know so much to the point where you can now confidently tell us Apostle paid the police to handle a blackmail threat he reported to the police? Oga abeg park there joor!!! Rumour mongers that will not sit down and analyse situations with facts that they have seen, instead are busy cooking up crazy nonsense stories from figments of their imaginations and coming to talk in public as if they witnessed what they are claiming with their eyes! Hypocrites!

This is interesting. We now have people defending police culture in Nigeria. We know the type of people that defend them in your wannabe culture.

This same police that pick up innocent people at bus stops and lay all types of charges until they get bailed out or figure out a violation as you drive on the streets.

If anyone is blackmailed, ask Otedola how to involve police.

Ladies are now on notice and powerful men now have police as weapon of little destruction.

Don’t ask for money before granting bail, CP warns officers, men

HE Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Mr Rabiu Yusuf, has warned officers and men against demanding for money or any form of favour before granting bail to the suspects.

Yusuf also cautioned them against illegal investigation of cases, unlawful detention of suspects and prolonged detention, saying that they should respect human rights in the course of all investigations.

The police chief spoke at a lecture/ parade with officers and men working at State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Divisional Crime Officers and Investigation Police Officers (IPOs) in the state.

Yusuf, according to a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Magaji Majiya, said that the era of bribery and corruption was over in the police circle.

“Nobody should accept or demand money or any form of favour for bail.

“Any senior police officer found to be engaged in corrupt practices will be queried and sent to the Force Headquarters for disciplinary action.

“Inspectors and rank and file found wanting will be sanctioned appropriately,” Yusuf said.

He urged them to exhibit professionalism and diligence during investigation by collating all relevant evidences and witnesses and forward the case files to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for Legal advice where applicable.

Yusuf urged the Legal/Prosecution Department to ensure diligence and logical prosecution of cases in the Court of Law and that cases should be judiciously followed up to gain conviction of criminals.

You seem to be impervious to learning and reasoning. You have concluded in blighted mind that Apostle Suleiman paid the police to arrest Otobo. People like you are the people giving education a bad name in Nigeria.

Do you know what Otobo is being charged for in the first place?. it is a crime against the State and not against Suleiman. Suleiman is not involved in this case as a Plaintiff but as a Prosecution witness.

Pls stop talking foolishly. You are talking to us as if we don't live in Nigeria. As if we live Australia.

The police were motivated by money, especially in the case of Kemi Olulonyo. They picked her up in Ibadan and took her to portharcourt where the Pastor lives. If the pastor was living in Kogi state, there would have probably taken her there.

Is that due process. The alleged defamation was committed on the internet and not in Portharcourt. The lady lives in Ibadan. Are there no police station in the whole of Ibadan or Oyo state or the southwest.

Nonsense. The pastor is using money & position to oppress just like politicians do. Simple

SMH for you.
Kemi may be wrong but don't support injustice. Otedola handled those who try to blackmail him and did not go this far. what treatment should the police give to her if she had rapped, killed, involved in fraud or stolen? Well, it is your type that supports Buhari disobeying court orders. It may be somebody close to you that will have issues with powerful men in the country. Say NO to injustice
