Today, Adeyeye Olorunfemi is in Kirikiri.

This is as a result of conspiracy between overzealous leadership of the Lagos Police Command and the incompetent yet autocratic leadership of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, led by Prof. Rahman Bello.

Out of their desperation to frame the outspoken students and hound them out of space, they had to cook lies, including claiming that the students "riotously invaded premises of the TVC". The students only went to give an interview about the state of affairs and their plight in the hands of UNILAG, an institution whose Management is currently serving rustication on a wholesale scale to students.

TVC had since denounced this claim by Police and rebuked the Lagos Police Command for daring to bring them into their lies.

The Police also got the UNILAG authorities to claim falsely that the students were violent on the campus. Whereas, the students had only sought meeting with the DSA, Dr. Ademola Adeleke, a meeting Adeleke refused and the students were only returning from the campus after his refusal to engage them, when they were rounded up and framed by the Police. The police apparently were acting on instruction of Adeleke, the dean of student affairs who had refused to meet with the students.

While 13 of them have been charged and remanded by a kangaroo Lagos mobile court with those false claims, the blind student, Lawrence Success, on whose rustication the students had embarked on their visit the TVC and UNILAG campus, was held at the Panti Police station and tortured for three days even in his condition.

This cruel, barbaric and sardonic connivance confirms that the Nigeria Police is nothing but a tool in hands of the rich to oppress the poor and voiceless. If these were not known students undergoing this experience, they were some innocent youths framed up somewhere else by the police. But at every time, the Police is always up to some illegal and damaging acts against the Nigerian masses.

This case gives a boost again to the advocacy that we must rise up to end the charade being overseen by wicked few against the innocent masses through unscrupulous police leadership, especially in Lagos.

History is preparing the place for everyone who plays a role in this chastisement.
