Ok thanks! i scored 256 in jamb and i applied for medecine what are my chances

utme score divided by 8 plus post utme score divided by 2.

The utme score is quite low coupled with the fact that lots of the medical students murdered the utme. I suspect this year's cut off mark to be higher than the last's. I may be wrong but to be on a safer side, choose a course with a lesser cut of mark.

Thanks, Temilistic22, for your congrats and for taking your time to answering me.
Biko I still need answers to the following quests:

Can I get UI past questions?
If I'm unable to meet the cut off point, can I apply for a change of course to secure an admission into the department favouring my score? Is there a certainty I will secure the said admission?
Yes, there are UI post utme past questions. But, unfortunately, I don't have them. The past questions are usually available on UI's portal about a month to post utme.

Yes, you can definitely apply for COC

" Is there a certainty that I will secure the said admission? "
No, change of course is like a game of luck. It's not 100% certain you'll be offered admission through COC because those who'll be admitted on merit will be considered before those that did COC. So, admission on merit is still the best way of gaining admission, as it is certain, unlike COC and ELDS.
Goodluck!

I know medical laboratory science is not a less competitive course but it is not as competitive as medicine, nursing and other medical courses, if he try to score like 67 in the post utme, he is good to go. cut off for MlS in ui last year was 60.375. if he can study very hard before the post utme and score about 67, he will meet the cut off mark

Let me clarify the two types of COC.

You can do jamb COC when its out. that one is done before postume. there is also ui COC, done after postume.

Now, if you're sceptical about your chances, I'll advise you take jamb COC. You can change to any other choice course of yours.

The reason I'm saying this is because you'll still have the liberty of choosing anything you like for yourself.

IF you wait till after postume before doing UIs COC, you'll be limited to only the available courses UI gives out. last year. there was no other course in college of medicine for COC. not even biochemistry or physiology. MBBS aspirants had to do COC to botany, chemistry and co, still, some didn't make it.

summary- if you wanna change your course, its best to change from jamb, and do your best in postume to gain admission on merit

When I said I got an info from UI on the 18th December 2017 that the resumption date (25th March) may be extended of which I later confirmed from the VC's secretary and she replied in the affirmative, some guys on this thread attacked my post and one even said 25th March still stands. Today's date is 27th March 2018 and i hope you can now see we've resumed...
