Aguleri Youths petition IG of Police over alleged brutal killing of their brother @FESTAC Police Custody
Aguleri youths have petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Abubakar Idris and the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni to quickly set up an investigative panel to probe the circumstances that led to the gruesome death of their brother Albert Okechukwu while in the custody of FESTAC Police Station in Lagos State and subsequent efforts by the officers to cover up their acts.
According to a statement issued by Aguleri National Youths Association, Lagos branch, the deceased was traveling alongside Alex Ejomofor on March 17 when they had a clash with a commercial motorcycle rider at Alkija Bus Stop culminating in police intervention.
The statement jointly signed Mr. Innocent Okonkwo and Emma Ogugua, Secretary and Chairman of ANYA, Lagos Branch, disclosed the two Aguleri boys were bundled to FESTAC Police station and subjected to brutal torture on mere suspicion of attempt to steal a commercial motorcycle .
The statements read in parts: "They continued beating them before eventually leaving them under the sun without food or water from noon till evening. Pleas by the two boys that they were innocent of the accusations fell to deaf ears. As nightfall approached, they were ordered to enter police cell and they demanded that they must explain to them why they were being locked up in the police custody.
"Infuriated, the police officers decided to tear-gas and beat them up to submit to their whims. When they eventually forced them into cell, the weakened Albert Okechukwu who was still shouting his innocence was subsequently brought out and subjected to another rounds of brutalization before taken him back to the cell. He was in pains for 48 hours, before he passed out in the night with handcuffs round his arms. His remains was later taken to an unknown place by the police before proceeding to file a criminal charge against Alex Ejimofor still alive in a bid to cover up their tracks."

I often advice people to stop claiming right and quoting law with security men whenever u have any confrontation with them,it doesn't make sense.This are issues diplomacy could have handled perfectly,the case may be as good as dead since evn the victim is not alive to add credence to the allegations against the police.
If u must retaliate against injustice,get ur freedom first and stop acting mr too smart.They will kill u and go scot free,this is Nigeria not America
