Pipo Password is a fantastic soundtrack, I've never been the anime soundtrack guy but I know a good one when I it.

That said, Trigger has definitely gone downhill. And yes, Promare—while decent in its own right—was ultimately just a rehash of concepts and designs from older Trigger and Gainax projects crafted to awaken your Gurren Lagann nostalgia and manipulate you into thinking that it was a great movie.

Now let's their other projects. IMO, Darling in the Franxx, SSSS Gridman, and BNA can't be compared to Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, and if I dare say, Inferno Cop. It seems to me that their more recent shows are generally weaker than their earlier stuff. Gone is the childish, reckless creative freedom they had in the past.

Even when they were dropping low-budget 2fps skits on YouTube back in the day. The last thing I could say about a Trigger anime was that it was boring. However I found myself using that weird a lot when watching BNA, Darling in the Franxx, and second half of Gridman.

Sorry for the long rant but before I joined this board, the running joke in online weeb communities was that Trigger was going to save anime. But today, they're just another studio. Not a bad one by any stretch but not a great one either.

Umu, if you put it like that then I'm inclined to agree with you. But I think saying 'gone downhill' is extreme because notwithstanding how they haven't given us another kill la kill-tier anime they are still making animes that are at the very least enjoyable. So to me saying the studio is now downhill because their recent shows aren't on par with the 'original' 'creative' 'wacky' shows they first made is being too harsh, because they might not be 'as good' but they still are 'good' shows nonetheless.
PS; Ignore Darling in the Franxx.
