But if you think about it, Ubuntu (Unity or Gnome Desktop Environ.) has a very low "entry barrier" if one is coming from the windows interface.

I would have recommended Zorin OS, but I have not used it yet.

Plus almost all apps on Linux are free compared to windows.

And, should in any case one really needs to run a .exe program, there's always wine for that.

Linux, for me, is liberating.

I still love windows tho.

windows is still the best for people like cyber-cafe, Microsoft word only users and the likes..
