I was lost

In the labyrinth
Of life's web
Inhibiting determined moves
I lost my radar
To figure out the next move
A herculean task
Then suddenly
Gradually
After trying to pick up
Without fruition
My heart began to ache
My head became a battlefield
Accommodating the last World War
Dejection
No
Disillusionment became the day's order
Melancholy arrested the air
As I breathed
I choked
As one would
Of pepper filled stew
Sending to all head corners and holes
An unending series
Of pungent tastes
Yet as a recalcitrant eater
Who would want to descry
The denouement of the tragedy
I persisted
In the vortex
I tried to run
In order to extricate
My confined self
I was web tangled
My run became a crawl
As slow as a snail
Summoning inner grit
Harder did I try
Slower the efforts turned out
Fast forward
I saw people who live
Producing an artificial existence
For validation
And publicity
I wanted to puke
For they are really nothing
But lies and deceptions
Narcissistic existentialists
Who wither in different hoaxes
And fill up this space as I do
They stay on a piece of land
Small but wide
Where only one currency is "spended":
Naira
More despondency inducing
Are their toadies
