Liverpool Top 5 Summer Transfer Targets Revealed. by ninnomedia: 10:22am On Apr 13, 2017
Liverpool football club showcase a rich history in both Premier League and European competitions, having won the English League trophy in 19 record times (before the birthing of the English Premier League in 1992), while they have gone on to lift the Champions League trophy 5 times (more than any other English club).

In recent years, the Merseyside giant club have been inconsistent in terms of competing for major honours in both the EPL as well as the UEFA Champions league as they have missed out on the top 4 position that could possibly guarantee a place in the European competition.

Ever since the collapsed title race in 2013/2014, the club hasn’t made it to the top 4 positions in the Premier League and this led to the exodus of some key players that were on the verge of making history at the club after a horrible title collapse in the last 5 fixtures of that season.

The inputs of Raheem Sterling surely stand out during the race to their first ever EPL title since it was renamed in 1992, as well as Steven Gerrard-who unfortunately slipped against Chelsea at the Anfield; not forgetting Luis Suarez-who scored 35goals for Liverpool during that season. Others include; Martin Skrtel, Jon Flanagan, Daniel Agger and Joe Allen have since departed the club including Brendan Rogers, who is already a record Scottish League champion manager with Celtic.

Meanwhile, Liverpool reinforced the team with Roberto Firmino, Origi, Mane, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, the highly-experienced James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum amongst others.

However, the signed players are yet to get immersed into the ‘Liverpool spirit’ and honestly, quite a few of them have been phenomenal for the Reds ever since they got signed by the Merseyside outfit. Though, the club boasts of a proven and highly-soughted German Manager-Jurgen Klopp.

In the meantime, we navigate through top 5 players that could potentially lead Liverpool back to the top summit in the Premier League and of course, the UEFA Champions League next season.
