Focus: Old Time Religion

WORD FOR TODAY
The only acceptable religion is the lifestyle and the faith in Christ Jesus delivered to the saint of old!!!

"Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints." (Jude 1:3 NIV).

The old time religion is not in line with the present day religion. It is a religion that is more of a call to the lifestyle of Christ Jesus rather than routine sacred activities. This was the original religion delivered to the saints of old.
It is a type of religion where high priority is placed on the inspiration and leading of the Holy Spirit for just everything. They placed less value on materialism; in fact, they gave all they had just to have their souls fixed on every divine assignment.

They counted their lives as nothing and put themselves in line for the course of the Lord. It was actually good for them because they experienced God and the name of the Lord was not dragged in the mud on the account of their lives. They actually became the heroes of our faith, serving as a great cloud of witness validating the effectiveness of God's power in the lives of men.

What is happening in our days? Real miracles are very scarce. There is famine of God's word - most of the ones flying here and there are adulterated. Worship sessions are tailored towards the interest of men with respect to the current trend in the world and not the Holy Spirit. Let's go back to that religion which has its ultimate focus on God's will and not human desires.
