JOE Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has shared his own view why former president Goodluck Jonathan could not achieve his second term bid of governing the country.

Of lately, Mr. Jonathan has accused the immediate-past president of the United States of America, Barrack Obama and his officials of being behind his failed bid. The United States has debunked the accusation.

In a book titled, 'Against The Run Of Play', written by Olusegun Adeniyi, the editorial chairman of Thisday Newspaper, Jonathan also accused a former National Chairman of his party, PDP, Adamu Muazu, of betraying him. Not left out he included the then chairman of INEC, Prof Attahiru Muhammadu Jega, of colliding with the then opposition, APC, while being backed by 'some foreign powers.'

The duo has sinced distanced themselves from the accusations leveled against them. While Adamu expressed shock that he could be accused of betrayal when he did all within his power to get the former president elected again which failed, Jega responded by saying he was not influenced by anyone in decision-making.

Reacting, Igbokwe, said Jonathan lost the election because he has already spent six years in power, adding that the North revolt against the plan.

"Goodluck Jonathan lost the 2015 election when he decided to run again after spending six years in office, the North revolted.

"It was four zones against two, even if the southeast and south-south had voted 150% beyond mathematics, GEJ would have lost," he said in series of updates on his Facebook timeline.

He also disclosed that inordinate ambition of Mr. Jonathan rendered nugatory a zoning arrangement put in place by the Peoples Democratic Party to balance power between the North and South.

Buhari's name will be sung longer and widespread more than that of GEJ when he is gone.

The song of his failure has already begun, chorusing and reverberating throughout the entire country. This song is unfortunately accompanied by the tears of the people under this hardship and general insecurity he has instigated.
