Probably same with the US- massive investments in weapons, army and wars cannot encourage growth in domestic goods and services.

To Nigeria:
The likes of Unilever who exist in a dedicated hub but still cannot lower costs of their goods.
Dangote shell etc get special auctioned forecast at reduced rates but still do not lower the cost of their goods and services
Many companies benefits from government grants, tax waivers. Tax holiday but can barely do things to benefit the economy that helped them.
There are loans for SMEs from the government all to promote growth.

In a way we all have a role to play. Banks just declared exorbitant profits and dividends while businesses are hurting. The list goes on.....

The success of Nigerians has no root to government, I don't need to be told here, what the government does is to stay behind or they go after the people. This is the politics of our government. If you doubt tell me any policy of government past and present that have achieve it purpose and water down to the real people and the success could be compared to increase in petrol price by the government.The day the government learn to move with the people that will be the day a new Nigeria is born. For now every citizen of Nigeria is his or her government and any day you stop being your government the hunger the politicians have prepared will automatically visit you. Wake up Nigerians!

I say this. If half what has befallen Nigeria in terms of bad leadership and policies befalls the USA, Pasadena suicide bridge will become a cemetery.
