When Buhari was elected President Nigerians finally had hope they had elected a man that was ready to tackle corruption holistically for the first time since it regained independence from the British. After two years in power,Nigerians have come to realize the promise was nothing but an electoral slogan for the nepostic bigot that occupies the Presidency who turns a blind eye to the corruption within his inner circle and party the APC.

We need a President that is ready to pass anti-corruption laws and ensure strict enforcement regardless of who is involved. Buhari has turned a blind eye to so many weighty allegations of corruption against his inner circle like:
1)Buratai and his two mansions in Dubai
2)Minister of Interior Dambazau and his $1.8 million dollar mansion in Conneticut United States
3) Fashola N78 million website and N139 million boreholes
4)Rotimi Amaechi indictment by River State over sale of $380 million gas turbine allegedly used to sponsor his re-election
5)Bola Tinubu balkanisation of Lagos State through his front and business partner former Abacha money launderer, Lebanese Chaugoury.

....To be honest,Nigeria is becoming kind of hopeless in terms of eradicating corruption and pretty much other vices keeping the country in limbo.

...Nobody and i mean NOBODY can fight corruption in this country because the system we run is corruption itself fueled by tribal and religious sentiments..And since the political elites thrives on this corrupt system, they will never allow corruption to die...Our ethnic and religious diversity in this case becomes a burden and not a virtue

....Its only moronic apc zombies who have left their brains in bubu's ears in the name of supportt that are delusional enough to imagine that the squad of Buhari,Tinubu,Atiku,Amaechi and their co-horts will eradicate corruption and make Nigeria an eldorado for them.Anyway they are called zombies for a reason, but that is gist for another day..

...I'd say that the country splits and every tribes go their own way and chart a realistic course for their future, hopefully with lessons learnt from the tragic experience as Nigerians..That seems like the only way out at this point...tragic but true.

Yes ! In the New Nigeria Vanguard, we are building such a man. You could join us. What we are building is a structure that prevents corruption and curbs it in the bud and a string personality to prosecute corrupt citizens without media braggadocio!

It still remains an illusion. We will NOT have one. My reason for this assertion is because the process that will produce the said president itself is corrupt so will the President.

A typical example is Buhari. He would have made that history if not that he enjoyed a 'corrupt process to power and also twist or supressed fact to emerge President, he must reward all contributors.

We have to wait until 2019,we need a new party of progressives to bring about change and completely shutout the old cargoes that are corrupt, nepostic and have no visons to move the country forward.

It difficult because most candidates have the support of corrupt people so it difficult only if people find a trust worthy candidates. Remember when Gani contest he didn't even win his state so what are we talking about.

....My bros,Progressives from where and how??..apart from the fact that the system of electing individuals in this country has little room for anyone apart from the same 'old cargos',i dont see the youths coming together and speaking with one voice to better their lives because of party, religious and ethnic differences..

....Ordinary protest to register their displeasure wiith the way the country is was an impossible task for 'Nigerian youth'...The so-called 'Occupy Nigeria protest comes to mind....There is little or no light at the end of the tunnel.

Exactly. It is impossible for an uncorrupt person to emerge as president when the political system itself is inherently corrupt.

How are you going to finance your candidacy, avoid impeachment, judicial sanction or gain the support/loyalty of the public service if you are not compromised? You will not be able to get through INEC elections or electoral tribunals without greasing a few palms.

In effect, the hyper-corruption phenomenon in Nigeria has lots of gatekeepers ensuring its survival/perpetuation. The most plausible scenario an optimist can hope for is the development of institutions/policies influenced by public activism that erode the opportunities for corruption. It is why reducing government intervention in markets is crucial in Nigeria: things like government management of NNPC, fuel subsidy and a fixed exchange regime ought to be removed as they provide an opportunity for insiders to loot at the public's expense.

Completely independent efcc would reduce corruption bigly.

But country can still move forward tremendously with some level of corruption.

The truth is we have to find smarter ways reduce corruption opportunities or make corruption work for our economy

To "go their own way and chart a realistic course for their future" seems the best option but sadly it's not on the table.
So any other suggestion?
How about let the govt keep pursuing it's war on corruption as it's beginning to yield results and maybe just maybe we'll make some progress before 2019.
