Thirteen prominent civil rights activists led by Lagos lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately proceed on medical leave.

The call was contained in a statement issued on Monday and jointly signed by the activists.

The activists noted that the President's health appears to have deteriorated, given that he has neither been seen in public in the last one week nor attended the last two meetings of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

"His absence at the last Jumat service in the villa has fuelled further speculations and rumors on President Buhari's medical condition," the activists said.

They equally noted that government officials have been defending the President's absence at the last FEC meeting and other state functions. Specifically, said the activists, Mr. Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, stated that "the president's doctors have advised on his taking things slowly, as he fully recovers from the long period of treatment in the United Kingdom some weeks ago".

While the activists said they are praying for the President's speedy recovery, they advised him to heed the counsel of his doctors by taking a rest to attend to his health without any further delay.

The activists took a dim view of the conduct of government officials, saying instead of providing information on the actual state of the President's health, they have been assuring the public that there. is no need for apprehension.

They recalled that the President was recently in the United Kingdom on a medical vacation, which lasted 59 days, during which many public officials said he was "hale and hearty."

"But upon his return to the country, President Buhari disclosed that he had never been that sick in his entire life. Even though the President did not disclose the nature of his ailment, he revealed that he went through blood transfusion," recalled the activists. They also noted that the President disclosed that he might soon travel back for further treatment.

In a similar vein, Mr. Falana and the other activists recalled that a few weeks ago, Mr. Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna State, urged Nigerians to give President Buhari time to recover from his sickness. The activists reckoned that the governor made the plea after assessing his condition during a visit to the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The stubborn vegetable will never take any meaningful advice

He would rather die than relinquish power to his deputy

He is just making things difficult for himself and Nigeria as well

I think we need a revolution in this country

Enough of some few individuals holding the nation to ransom

Nigeria must move forward and no greedy bunch of cabals can stop the progression of this great nation

He needs more than medical leave, we cannot keep having an absentee president! He must relinquish that office and go sort himself out not be incapacitated and keep hovering like some malevolent spectre with his demonic minions calling the shots! They must all be swept out so this hellhole can hopefully have some focus! Can't keep paying some vegetable for being just that, a vegetable!

He don't need no leave, he need to stay retired. He should resign if he is still alive. but that is by the way.

Haba...your statement lacks empathy. Please let us be fair to PMB. Someone who is very sick may not be in a position to take decisions about his health. It is rather sad that those that PMB trusted are now holding him captive for their selfish gains. They have succeeded in side-lining his wife and immediate family. In saner society the members of the so call Cabal would have been arrested for treason. Why risk the life of our president because of selfish political power?
At the end of the day, the coming generation will not blame the CABAL but the elites, prominent religion leaders and elderstatemen who kept silence as the wolfs ravages our presidents.

Don't tell me buhari cannot speak for himself
If he's still alive he can ask for a resignation

We all seemed to forget that old age and related ailments is already setting in for PMB. At that age, dementia, and semi-unconsciousness can occur along with serious ailments. We should blame the hawks in the presidency and elsewhere who are manipulating the president sickness for their selfish end. Let stop making mockery of a sick old man as we all pray to reach old age in good health.

This is why Buhari rejected this Afonja as Minister of Justice.

It is a known fact that Falana if appointed as Minister of Justice won't have wasted time to set up a medical board of inquiry into Buhari's health status from where he would have been removed from office.

Tinubu knew Buhari was chronically ill or knew that there were moves to incapacitate buhari when in office.

That foolish Biu Police man should make sure that the 200 people he intends to kill over Buhari's imminent death are afonjas because nah afonja arrange buhari to be a vegetable.

BishopMagic:

Why Buhari should not appoint Falana as Minister of Justice
Outside Falana being a typified ambulance chaser and his highly partisan approach in legal interpretation and sense of Justice which has eroded any respect I use to hold of him, the fact that Falana is being propped by that kleptomaniac drug trafficker, Tinubu is more than enough reason why Buhari should never consider appointing Falana as Minister of Justice.

The lame game plan by Tinubu in his draught logic in this game of chess, is to position Falana into a position that will serve his own selfish political interst.

You may recall that during the Yaradua impasse, the responsibility of setting up a medical board of inquiry into the health status of the now late president fell primarily on the then Minister of Justice, Mike Aadonka.

This is exactly what Tinubu hopes to do with Falana what Mike Aadonka refused to do.

Tinubu believes strongly that Buhari's health will soon be an issue and the only way he can secure his puppet Osinbanjo to be appointed acting President is to see that the President of the Senate and Artorney-General be under his control.

This is why Tinubu is rooting for Falana.

Anybody in the Buhari camp reading this should first and foremost consider this motive above others on why Tinubu wants Falana.
