They were only a few days old in the United States. Tunde Adepegba, his wife Oluwayemisi , who is seven-month pregnant, and their two chidlren, arrived the U.S. in April. But on April 26, Adepegba died in a bus. His wife has sobbed her heart out since then.

Mrs. Adepegba, who has two daughters aged two and eight, had barely spent 12 hours with her husband when he was picked up dead inside a metro bus.

The late Adepegba, a computer systems analyst, suffered a suspected heart attack while inside a metro bus in Annapolis area of Maryland and died with no help until the bus driver got to a final stop and came for him.

The late Adepegba’s burial will cost about $10,000, which the wife does not have. A gofundme account has been set up for her husband burial.

A deputy editor with THISDAY newspaper, Olawale Olaleye, who has been part of the fundraiser, wrote on his facebook wall: “This is no good news but a time I need the Nigerian in us to act true to type. Sadly, he left behind a pregnant wife. It is such a pathetic situation. But we can’t go on and on brooding over what we can’t change. This is an appeal for his burial, which is a bit expensive in the U.S and of course, whatever is left of this will be given to the pregnant wife.”

A columnist with THISDAY newspaper, Adeola Akinremi, who is in the US and has seen the family of the deceased, said: “It is a sad story. The gofundme.com is probably the first place to start, but you can also reach out to the woman directly.”

Mrs Adepegba and her children are in Randallstown, Maryland, United States, where a Good Samaritan is accommodating them.

embarassed this reminds me of the story of Moses in the bible, he took the children of Israel through the wilderness but couldn't enter the promised land.

this man toiled very hard to take his wife and kids to the promise land but couldn't stay to enjoy it, he's a great man and a good father who knows he might have foreseen his death I hope his sacrifices are not wasted

RIP great man you shall never be forgotten

It's not about being wise or not. That's about how much a normal, no frills, no extra burial costs in the US. From buying of the casket, to buying plot at the cemetery, to headstone costs, grave diggers and all. Google is your friend.

Mind you, it will cost waayy more to fly the corpse to a Nigeria.

Such a sad situation and I'm pretty sure the wife is here to have a child. May God help her and her family.

He began bragging

"Instead make I come back this yeye country, make I die there"

Be careful what you say with your mouth...
The power of life and death lies in your tongue

RIP to the dead

Did the people in the bus not know he needed help?
Why the hell didn't the drive stop for emergency situation? It's a a plane that you can't stop mid air.

Awww, this is so sad. From holiday to burial, what a nightmare it must be for the poor wife.
Travel insurance should cover some of the expenses though.

May his soul rest in peace.

Sorry Madame o.

But are you expecting us to actually send you 10k USD for a burail?
While you were busy enjoying your life and children abroad, how much have you remembered the fatherless and motherless children at home?
How many poor widows or kids has your husband helped while alive? Sorry if you helped people. But a lot of our rich people thinks tragedy is meant for the poor only. And they look down on and despise the needy thinking it can never get to them to experience such situations.

Madam come back home with whatever is left of your husbands wealth and build yourself and your children's here in Nigeria. It will be a good starting point. Don't burden the poor masses to foot your bill for such expensive lifestyle.

Many Nigerians are stranded on the street of Lagos.

That doesn't mean they're stranded.

They have relatives and relations before coming to Lagos to 'pick' money on the street.

You can never be stranded among your people.

If I am from Anambra state and managing well in Nnewi and chose to hustle in Lagos, that's not being stranded. I can return to Nnewi to my people
