PulseWeb: That's a background process for Android default web services. It's duty is to assist the apps open webpages in themselves (their activities) unlike those which always asks you to open them separately in a browser. E.g. Facebook on Android 4.x and above loads the external links into itself rather than asking you to open them in a browser. It's like using an App which isn't a web browser e.g Facebook App, WhatsApp, etc and you clicks on a link from the App, instead of asking you to Open the link in a separate browser, it enables it open the link within itself. PS: That things has been there for long. Can't really remember - maybe Kitkat or earlier versions of Android. If you always poke around internal operations of your device, you would have noticed it. 1 Like |
